I 😍 😍 😍 NY

As do I 🙂.

She was so heavy that
1) They couldnt CT her.
2) she told me her knee hurts and i couldnt find her knee..
3) she requested a foley because no one would be able to move her.

NY is pretty tight... tough place for a family though IMO.

I lived there for a bit.

Luckily it's just l'il old me 🙂. If it stays that way I can go wherever I want (or...um...wherever they'll take me!) after this whole "med skewl" thing.

I have seen a patient similar to this...don't remember the exact weight or height though. All I can do is add a number 4) Bent the bed in the room. One thing that has puzzled me since the dr and the nurse discussed it -- how was it anatomically possible for her to have two kids? 😕

You haven't described your sister though. Or given a picture.

But nonetheless.... 😍

My undergrad woes: six years of no math and then jumping into calculus isn't helping my self esteem at all. Add that to the only professor that doesn't know how to teach and we have a possbile bad grade. Solution: Do as many problems as possible, maybe even use 2 or 3 different books. Also, utilize younger brother, who actually remembers some of it. It's a good thing I enjoy math, otherwise I could be a lot more worse off. I look forward to the day when the only math I have to do involves no algebra.

I think this is a common misconception. I love it here and haveing a kid is not that difficult. tons of people have kids here.

Haha. My sis and I aren't identical, but the only describable difference between us is that I have blue eyes and she has brown. Other than that, we wear the same size and look a lot alike!

Yay for mornings at home!

I 😍 cleaning.

Well, I actually +pissed+ cleaning...but I love the results.

I dont think it is a misconception, the kids there (who when i worked) tend to have no childhood. The 14 year olds are way too mature there. I did market research on kids 14-18 and worked with a kid who had just graduated and let me tell you it is nothing short of scary. I lived there for a bit over a yr and it will be hard to convince me otherwise...

I beyond hate cleaning..

Doesnt mean I have an offer to work there... but it doesnt mean I wont try 😀
I didn't mean that in a personal manner BTW Fetus.....I was just gloating over my $25 an hour (plus shift differential) as an RT....you had to go and burst my bubble.....

Hi guys. Just wanted to add my two cents. This thread is great. It is (thankfully) much less depressing than the mil med forum... I'm an MSI with no real idea what I want to do with my life, but I consider EM a real possibility, so I wandered in here. Thanks for the entertainment (and the study break 😳 ).

You know how you have those AWESOME really productive days where you just tear through everything you need to get done, and then you look up and say, "Wow, I'm done, what shall I do with the rest of my evening?"

This +pad+ is the most productive thing I've done all day.

Just get a big block of cheese, like mozerella or cheddar, and go to town on it. You'll feel a lot more productive. "Ahhhhhh, the power of cheese."

don't forget the powerful aphrodisiac properties of cheese...

Or the massive laxative and methanogenic properties of a massive dose of cheese......

I was having one of those productive days... then I called the TX state medical board. +pissed+

That ended that.

Maniacal rage does tend to slow down the productive flow.

Grr...

Off to school with my BEST FRIEND (Big Robbins...I'm actually liking the subsequent chapters more than the first).

I have lived here for a little over 3 years. My daughter was 3 when we moved. She is no more mature than anywhere else. Maturity is a function of parenting and the child. I grew up in a pretty small little town and was definately one of those 'way to mature kids'. My brother on the other hand, has mentally just passed 25 and he is only a year younger than me...

I have many friends who have kids and there is huge variation, just like everywhere else in the country. Its hard for people to shake thier biases. Kids don't grow up any faster in the city than they do anywhere else. Now, if you just don't want to raise a kid in NYC, that's another arguement.

I was going to go out tonight...but I was a bad chica and didn't finish all my work until 9 PM.

By the time I got home, showered, changed, and ate dinner it would have been kinda late.

That's funny - I grew up in a medium-sized town that was a suburb of a big city. I was (maybe still am?!?!) a bit young for my age.

Random fact about me: I have both my nipples pierced.

SoCute seemed rather surprised when I mentioned it when I was talking with her.....

So I figured I would use this as an excuse for.....
