Path's lead is shrinking..

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Why can't people in med school spend the time they APPARENTLY spend discussing MY LIFE getting THEIR OWN. Seriously, people, it's NOT THAT HARD. And my life is REALLY not interesting enough to be any fodder for discussion/gossip.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...it's like high school all over again!

Uhh so tell me.. Who DID you hook up with?

Med school is totally like high school except we can all legally drink now. Well look at it like this.. they think you are just that cool! Their lives are so pathetic that they have nothing better to do but hope their lives were more like yours! 😎

BTW strong post padding by my fellow 4th yr CS.. I hope things are going well for you CS.. Did you end up interviewing in Arizona?

back to back interviews can knock you on your butt. Im exhausted. nice job guys. Another solid south park episode right now 🙂

time to hop on a place today! I am ready to relax at home for a little bit... Oh and I prob should start studying for step2 CS since it is 10 days away! 🙂

You know the best part of off-service months?

They confirm that emergency medicine is the place you belong.

{Career affirmation - just another service we provide!}

Unfortunately, no one. I have this policy of not hooking up with anyone affiliated with my school - I think it makes life a lot more pleasant.

🙂

Several of my classmates have been burned by hooking up with---or even asking out---someone in the same class.

See 🙂. My policy is well-founded. I really try to view medical school as the beginning of my "professional life" and try to relate to my classmates as colleagues (and some of them as friends). The only problem comes when I expect the same of them...

So cute.. good outlook... As an aside my med school (class of 180 or so) has had 4 couples get married or engaged.. including 2 good friends of mine.. You never know.. but I agree not a bad policy..

+pad+ to update our stats.. I had a great couple of interviews! Only 3 more to go.
Looks like another solid day.
Us - 31,544
Them - 34,857

The difference is 3313 Caught up by 90 posts! today! 😱
This is a crazy rate we are working on.. Keep up the good work!

I know Testicle is upset about this.. Paths collective genitalia is shrinking 🙂

If someone came along that I had a really amazing connection with, I probably couldn't fight it, but it seems like there is more hooking up than dating - and that's what I refuse to be a part of!

Socute.. Sounds reasonable.. I think it is generally a good idea not to poop where you eat.

Heck ya. Tommy penderman i believe. Of course he did sell Eric his pubes. Man I might be 28 and married (which some people say means I am mature) but I still have the sense of humor of a 12 year old.

Other funny episode is when Cartman goes to the eye doctor and has to read the snellen, and it reads
I
AM
A
L I T T L E
P I G G Y

Freakin Classic.. esp because my best friend is an optometrist! Classic!

Not much +pad+ing happening today huh? Come on.. people.. we have a long way to go!

*sighs*
The pre-clinical years really interfere with with SDN.

Did I spell interfere correctly?

Ahh wait until 4th yr.. IT ROCKS!! then you remember you actually have to take care of people in a few months 🙂 even if you dont know what you are doing.

Sorry. I've been slacking. I went out last night, slept in today, and missed class. Sort of on purpose. I woke up feeling incredibly guilty, and I'm not quite sure why. Now I'm trying ot make up for absolutely 0 productivity this AM.

Looking at some of the stats on the USMLE score thread...I'm sort of getting depressed about whether there will be ANY hope for me to match in EM by the time my turn! It seems to be growing only more competitive as the years pass!!

Back to studying for now 😛.

Socute dont believe the hype. This board is SOOOO skewed to "uber" competitive applicants it isnt even funny. Seriously I am a pretty average applicant (I have a few things that stand out but basically (avg preclinical, avg stepI/II, above avg clinical) solid LORs, thing is I am a nice person, and therefore I interview well, heck I had 3 interviewers at 3 different places tell me that! Just be a decent person, enjoy life so you have something to talk about and then you will be set! You wont get EVERY interview but you will get enough "good" ones so you can match where you want.

85-90% of applicants match in their top 3 nuff said. Try rotating where you want to go, get solid LORs and you will be fine.. (assuming you still want to do this in 2 more yrs)
