Yeah, it's certainly interesting and it's one of the few specialties that I think I would do despite the relatively low compensation associated with it.

Actually, forensic path was my original 1st choice specialty...until I found out during histology that I don't like spending much time looking through a microscope.

I am planning on 10 hours of sleep! I am excited about that. Waking up early for Anesthesia and then being bored has made me real tired! PLus the weather in Chicago has been nasty today!

Side note.. Watching South park.. the one where they find out Token is rich. and then Snoop, Oprah, Kobe and Will Smith move to south park. Lots of interesting racial undertones..

I think the best South Park episode ever was "Day After Tomorrow." Man that was hilarious!
 
The Mel Gibson Passion of the Christ one was quite funny. Sadly Southerndoc I am not familiar with the episode you mention.

It was based on Hurricane Katrina, except they made fun of how people kept trying to find someone to blame. Cartman and Stan crash a speedboat into a beaver damn, causing Beaverton to be flooded. The geniuses in South Park decide it was global warming that caused the flood, and they start barracading themselves in a gymnasium because global warming is striking the day after tomorrow. One scene has the town people running from global warming.

I guess you will have to see it to truly appreciate the humour.

You guys realize that anesthesia and IM (maybe others, I dunno, didn't look) have more threads than EM? I hear that # of threads is a more important representation on a forum's popularity. 😉 Better start creating new threads if you want to be truly prestigious!
 
That is interesting since as EM docs we should have more threads with fewer posts, (know a little about a lot) whereas our IM friends should have like 5 threads with a lot of detail? (greater depth?) Isnt that the word on the street? Very interesting

I knew, without any doubt whatsoever, the exact minute I decided to take the MCAT. Seriously, the only reason I applied to med school at all was to be an emergency physician and an EMS medical director.

Sounds like me...except who knows whether or not I'll still want to be an emergency physician after I finish med school as "they" say you change your mind 50 times after you do clerkships...
