She said that they only cooked lamb when I was coming over, because she and her husband certainly couldn't eat it!
Too funny!
The only dogs I have right now are Boar's Head...they'll have to do.
Most people would just refuse to make it if they weren't going to eat it.
You should see me eat. I - to this day - am still pissed that I couldn't finish my banana split at "The Beacon" in Spartanburg, SC.
Where in the south are you (what state)?
Sunny South Carolina - upstate
(Greenville, specifically)

Are you still quoting scrubs?
That one doubled up as a quote and relevant to TPS.
Path's lead is shrinking, "I miss you so much it hurts sometimes."

Maybe I should start paying more attention...

Order a burger "a-plenty" at the Beacon, then get dessert...
It kicked my ass, and I'm burning to go back.
I pride myself on my gluttony.

I haven't found a dog place yet that REALLY gets it right.

I keep wondering if I'll like it again when I try it. I was so hungry every time I ate it that I'm sure that part influenced my taste buds.
One of the small victories, here, though, is, with the burgeoning Mexican population, there's some good Mexican restaurants popping up.

So I make do. And I get to order and talk to them in Spanish!

That reminds me that I need to take a trip a few blocks down the road. One of the "little Mexico" areas that has a restaurant I heard was pretty good. Definitely like the authentic Mexican food.
1/4 hot dog?!?!?!?!? I like that it's beef, but that's a lot of dog!
Two of them, mustard, hot (spicy) onions, chili, and a pickle on it, large fries, and 32oz diet Pepsi (that's what Ted's has) is a GREAT lunch!

Impressive.

Have you ever gone to a place like Red Lobster and ordered chicken?
I can't remember the last time I was in a Red Lobster or even an Olive Garden.
Been to the Outback many a time, and I think a TGIFriday's 4 years ago (in Queens).
Used to walk to this place in Forest Hills that was like the Outback, but was individual and better.

Get the 20oz steak - medium, fries, salad (with Italian dressing), and a Rolling Rock. Good honest meal, that!
For my birthday, since I had no one here, I went to this place where I had a 40oz porterhouse.
When I asked for a salad, they gave me (I kid you not) a 1/4 head of lettuce (cut just like that) and some diced tomatoes.
But they gave me my dessert (white chocolate cheesecake) on the house, with a birthday candle in it!

Although we had a journal club at a place called "Fishmonger's" in Durham, and I am NOT a fish person, so I had chicken fingers. They weren't bad.
Oh damn! It's 5:30! I have to sleep, too, but "The Great Escape" is on TV - and you MUST watch Steve McQueen when he's on!
Good night!

PTSD ****ing blows
Tonight (or rather this morning) was the first time I've had one of the nightmares in quite a long time, so here I am...
Guess no one's around..... 🙁
HOla..
Example: guy with a college degree who makes decent money (not huge sums, but more than enough to live on), lives in a nice area (looking for permanent place there), and has a job he likes ALOT that has a ton of growth potential.
My recent conversations with said boy:
"So, my boss messed with the database (owned by said boss) and screwed up some stuff. I lost a ton of data and my bosses are mad that I hadn't backed it up. I'm getting blamed for screwing up when it's really my boss who screwed up the database. Well, yeah, except I hadn't backed it up, which happens to be in my JOB DESCRIPTION"
Boo-f-ing-hoo. You screwed up. Deal with it. Learn from it. It's YOUR fault - no one else's.

Then, last night:
"I can't find a place for less than $1000/month. It's so expensive to live around here, but anything less than that is a DUMP." (there is some truth to this statement...but he grew up around here, he knew what it would cost to live when he took the damn job.)
And he says that to ME, the med student, who lives off student loans and the occasional babysitting job, yet still manages to pay HER OWN MORTGAGE.
