I'm a D18 student at a DMD program where we schedule our own patients, and am now entering clinic-- can anyone recommend a patient planner (either digital or physical) that you found effective? It should satisfy having sections to organize (at the very least):

- Patient ID# & Contact Info & Alerts
- Last Visit (Date & Procedure)
- Patient Needs / Treatment Plan
- Next Scheduled Visit (Date & Procedure)
- Additional Notes

If digital, it would be great if it were an Excel sheet or something that could be easily exported to calendar. I plan to spend some time making a planner myself, but was curious to see what others have found. Thank you!

Your school's patient management software should do this right?

Our students are assigned to a patient care coordinator, who prints out a list of patients with their contact info. Managing them otherwise is up to us. I just use the school's PMS to keep track of their completed treatments, planned treatments, my personal production, etc. Of course, this is very secure and can only be accessed through several layers of security.
Whatever you choose to do, make sure it is well protected. You don't want to get into any trouble over HIPAA compliance.
