I just checked out a PCAT Achiever trial (the free demo - not buying the program) and was surprised to find it has only 12 questions. Tried to do it again but the same 12 questions keep coming up. Is this really all it has??? Will there be a new set of 12 tomorrow?

Are you guys kidding? When will the PCAT be computerized? I really hate working with the screen ... very eye-straining and not helping at all ... 🙁

It isn't as bad as you would have imagined. A friend of mine took it on computer lately and told me it was a hassle free experience which somehow helped him perform better than he would do so on paper.

Take it this January 22, else you're going to be left with only the CBT option in all administrations that follow.

It seems they have differant locations for the CBT and the paper version, I was given the option of CBT and declined, I would have to drive an additional hour.

Anyone out there taking the computerized PCAT this fall? If so, is there a DEMO on the format of the test that you get to look it up online? Is it something similar to Achiever or it will be an entirely different interface? Thanks.

Oh yeah, anyone has an answer to these questions?😕

It's somewhat similar to Achiever where you are given one question at a time. I thought I read it somewhere on the forum that there is a specific link you could visit to actually see some of the formats and features on the PCAT CBT.

How do the questions correlate to the actual PCAT? Also, are than any other software like Achiever that we can practice for the CBT? Thanks.

Are you supposed to access the achiever tests from any computer or is it just one computer you get tied down with?

From their FAQ:

Can I install the software on more than one computer?

In compliance with the standard industry practice, each licensed copy of software is encrypted to run on a designated PC or Apple computer. For best test taking results, have it installed on a desktop like you would expect to meet at the testing center. If you need to travel a lot, getting it deployed to a laptop is a better option then.

:luck:

Is that a download thing or do they send you a CD for that? I'm a bit confused 'cause the payment I was about to submit asked me for the shipping address.

I didn't get any CD from them. You get to download the software from your account after the payment and start taking the practice tests in less than a minute of product installation and activation.

I ordered it from Amazon, and had to actually wait for a CD before I could install anything on my computer. Could have done it through the Achiever website like you guys did.
