Hello! To study for the PCAT, I'm using Dr. Collin's study guides, PCAT destroyer for extra practice problems, and Kaplan's PCAT book for the biology sections. I noticed that Kaplan's bio is very detailed and precise over all thirteen biology chapters. Are the PCAT questions extremely specific? For example, should I just know the way cellular respiration occurs or do I need to know the exact number of ATP and NADH formed during each step of the process?

Also, for the people that used Kaplan and took the PCAT, how accurate did you think the given practice exams were to the real thing? Am I better off with using the Pearson practice exams rather than Kaplan's?

I remember there was lot of anatomy and microbiology and a little bit of biochemistry in there (amino acids). Review the Dr. Collins bio section and do all the practice test and you should do fine. I did that and got a 93.

Thanks! Were there questions about evoluion? The Kaplan book has a chapter about evolution and it's pretty detailed. I skipped over it for now, but I'm not sure if it will be tested on.

I don't think so. But every test is different. Reviewing the main points of the chapter shouldn't hurt.
