PCAT dates after January?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Well it is too soon to tell. The Pcats are usually in January, July, and September. Any changes to the dates are updated on the registration site.

good luck

Yeah since there alternate test dates in Oct./Nov. I was just wondering if they will do the same after January. Can I apply to schools without taking the PCAT and update my application with the scores after say the July one?

I'm not sure what you mean by your last question....Are you asking if you can update schools with next year's PCAT score and not provide any score when you submit your application?
If that is what you are asking, then I don't think it is a good strategy... Unless application deadline is past Jan 2013 it is my understanding that schools will not even accept Jan 2013 (although I'm sure there maybe some exception). Right now schools are aware of Oct/Nov alternate test dates. But since there are no other alternate test dates announced I wouldn't rely on potential alternate test dates after Jan.
If I misinterpreted your question please restate your question 🙂

Yes that's pretty much what I meant. Also, why won't they accept the January PCAT scores? I'm gonna apply for the 2014 Fall Cycle.

Oh I thought you were applying for Fall 2013 cycle!
Then Jan 2013 is good! Except I wouldn't start your PharmCAS application until next summer. I think PharmCAS closes all the applications that were created/started for Fall 2013 cycle and have new applicants or reapplicants start a new one starting June 2013.

So dude should I not take the test this January cause I feel I'm not prepared. I understand I still have 3 months but my course load is heavy. If I don't take this January, can I start the application process next summer without taking the PCAT and take the exam in July?

Don't feel obligated to take Jan PCAT unless you feel ready....
And Yes to your last question. I think that's what most people do anyway 🙂

I am not too sure about regular admissions but as far as early admission and rolling admission, and I'm not even admitted to a pharmacy school yet, but I think the general answer is yes. Also, you can still e-submit PharmCAS before you take July PCAT. And remember PharmCAS opens in June so submitting your application around July is still considered very early.

Yeah but they won't process the app's till the PCAT scores come in which will be in like August. If there dates in like March/April that'd be ideal.

But since everyone else is in the same boat as you, you're not at a disadvantage. You'd be surprised, the majority of applicants are only applying NOW. If you e-submit before August and take the July PCAT, that's the best case scenario.

I've noticed schools don't begin to review and offer interviews until September anyway. And that's referring to regular decision.
