I think I remember reading someone's commentary previously that PCAT professor is good for verbal and reading. But when I started doing the reading passages, I felt the passages were very short. So I was wondering if anyone else felt this way about PCAT professor?

If you want to improve your reading get this book:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/07...ef=sr_1_1/002-6706743-3407260?ie=UTF8&s=books

I remember when I had 168-178 wpm, it was such a struggle to get through the Kaplan 8 min reading sections. It has been two months and I have been diligently practicing the drills in this book and I can read at nearly 350 wmp with the same comprehension I had at 168 wpm. Since most people are around 230 wpm, they should see much more growth than I have thus far. I'm naturally a slow thinker.

Those practice tests in kaplan will be significantly easier after you've been drilling yourself with a timer for hours upon hours with this book. It will take a lot of hard work and time though. People who say you cannot improve your reading are incorrect. And you will not improve your reading by reading at the same pace all the time. That's why no one experiences much growth in their reading speed. You need to constantly challenge yourself and this book shows you how to do it.

I also purchased a robic countdown timer.
