Hello there!!
I am new to this forum, and i am planning to to take my first Pcat on January. Can you guys give me some suggestions about what kind of materials should i buy to prepare for the upcoming Pcat, please. I just bought Dr.Collin from a friend of mine of this 2011. Moreover, English is my second language, so is there any tips that can help me study through "verbal" and "comprehension" sections on the Pcat. I have done some research in this forum and you guys recommend to use GRE from Kaplan. Should i buy it to prepare for English section? Please let me know any helpful suggestions from you guys. Is Dr.Collin enough, or i should buy some more materials from other sources. Thanks for reading this post.

There are many free resources to take advantage of for verbal prep. The "GRE Top 300 Hotlist" is a great place to start (google it). There is also another great resource called GRE word lists- http://www.majortests.com/gre/wordlist.php.

As far as books go, Verbal Advantage, Kaplan Word Power, Kaplan GRE in a box, and Merriam-Webster Vocabulary Builder are great resources.

harmonidrum gave you a good suggestion for verbal preparation. As for reading comprehension, you still have like more than 4 months until your test date, i'd suggest you make reading your daily habit. Do some practice tests, and make sure you understand thoroughly their explanations. Many people have said those explanations (not limited to RC, also other subjects) are amazingly helpful, so you would wanna go over it and make sure you know what you're missing. 🙂

For other subjects, since you still have time, i'd say go over your notes first. But if you're asking about more sources, i think the 3 pearson practice tests would be something you want to have before taking the real test.

Hope this helps 🙂
