Unfortunately EFDO is closed from the rest of the week and repoens on monday. My final LOR still needs to be uploaded 🙁

Let the new year come early!! 🙂

Happy holidays and happy new year to everyone and hope the new year brings us what we want
- Interviews interviews
- Match at our top choice of program

by the way what else do people want for the coming year (just to keep the thread alive and moving!!)

Happy Holidays everyone.

I just wish for contentment & happiness in my life and family in 2009. Rest is all material.

Seems like we have lost a couple of posts at the time of forum upgrade.
I thought I posted a respone to jaynecobb and he posted back about scanning of documents @ ERAS. Am I in DejaVu!

Nope, there is no DejaVa. The forums had a hiccup and some posts were lost.

Do you think programs care what your pulmonary interest is... Lets say I am interested in Asthma and my ongoing research is in Asthma and I have mentioned that in PS; would centres with no ongoing research in Asthma not consider me. Just wondering if I have made my resume very limited by mentioning my research interests.. all thoughts welcome.

indiana Univeristy. :meanie:

If I upload a personal statement after correcting an error in the old one.. the old one is gone.. right? I know thats what happened in residency, not sure if it is the same in fellowship. anyone?

Who's sending out those rejections on late christmas eve?

Regarding personal statement I think yes, the new one completely replaces the old one, as long as you did not give it a new name and just edited the last one.

On research interests and programs - am guessing they will be looking for candidates that fit into their program. Most programs have research going on in asthma and I guess you probably donot need to be worried. My feeling is they will look at your interests but they know that interests do change through life!

That's good to know that I did not dream 🙂 😉
and my interview is real as well  🙂

Thanks for reply arjun.. the vicious indiana pc is working late on Xmas.. lol!!!!!

I changed some closing lines in the personal statement and changes it for just a few programs... I sincerely hope that the PCs dont print your CVs as soon as they download the application.. that way my new PS will replace the old one w/o them knowing...

The Christmas is over today and the in few weeks I think we should start hearing more from programs.... I wish everyone good luck.

Was checking my ERAS today and found that my 4th LOR is updated on 23rd!
Yayyyyy!!! Thats kind of surprise, as I thought it will be later coming week that the document may be uploaded. Now the waiting continues for interviews.....

souljah, I thought that you will get interviews from good places the first time I saw your creds.

We are trickling now. Its time that the flood of interviews is going to come pretty soon and am waiting for it,

Think it is better idea to pool our creds to one single wiki post on first page (that way we don't need to keep searching through the whole forum), Just wondering if anybody has objections to this, Will see if anybody objects in the next 2 days, otherwise I will add them to the wiki posts.

I cant seem to get my signature... may be something I did with the options.. you can then update your wiki posts stuff arjun.

georgetown university, on new years eve!!!!!!!!

hey Moozy it was georgetown/washington hospital center.

you know we had to go through this in residency, when the AMGs get the interviews at all the big places, and i thought, it was because i didnt do medical school here, i have no experience with the system, and i thought i understood why would residency programs act like that, and now applying for fellowship you see the same trend again, even though the PCCM fellowship program said that the medical school that you went to doesnt affect your fellowship application, i dont think its the case i think no matter what, if you are an IMG, your application will pushed all the way to the end of the line, and no one will look at it until they are sure that they cant fill that spot with an AMG, sorry to all of the AMGs im not trying to sound mean, but its just my frustration.

Keep in mind that SDN is a small self-selected sample. There are probably 500-600 applicants and there are 20 or so applicants posting in this thread. There were several very highly qualified AMGs who have already gotten rejections from Colorado, so don't get yourself down just yet.

ICUDR - we still have a long way to go. Don't loose heart or get frustrated yet. Two full months atleast, for interviews to be offered. And as jaynecobb said, this forum probably is not a good representation of all the p/ccm applicants.
Keep the hope and you are welcome to vent your frustration here (I guess untill there is no flaming!!)
To relax try thinking, if you/I are/am a program director what will we be doing? !!
Good luck👍

Made few changes - separated the rejections and interviews.

Sorry to hear you are frustrated.

I have a friend who is now a fellow that is here on a visa. She had a lot of problems getting interviews and later found out that it is much more difficult for fellowship programs to get funding for a fellow here on a visa. I could understand why they would preferentially take AMG over IMG in that situation, but I don't necessarily think it all comes down to where you went to medical school. I'd also like to think that my qualifications extend beyond being just an AMG.

It is still very early in the process. I wouldn't lose faith. It's way too early in the game. Historically, the ball really starts rolling in the next few weeks.

Hi ICUDR, being a FMG I completely understand your situation...but hey..being FMG is part of our credentials and we get evaluated as a whole..I am sure you will agree with me that your chances are greater at the place where you went to Med school, won't u? So why should AMGs not have a greater chance here? And I believe if you have done something extraordinary during your residency, you will be highly regarded by the progs....

So keep your hopes high and best of luck from me.

pmdoc.

Point well said! pmdoc.
Radinsj and souljah1 has great creds beyond just being AMGs.

Rejection from harvard for me today through email

NIH is good program (from what I heard), particularly in terms of research and academic career. I don't know of the details however. I assume it has a good clinical center. I considered it at one point when I was interested in just CCM. But now that I liked P/CCM, I did not look back at it.

dont be frustrated; what is yours will be yours. I have faith, that good things will happen to those who work hard and fight.

My application has not been downloaded by 8-9 programs.. I wonder, when they will start downloading. Nothing in my inbox since new years.:xf:
