updated the interview list.
congrats on the interviews guys
I've got to say, getting the email for the first interview offer was a really great feeling of relief.
I got a rejection from Indy long time ago. no new calls for me. Empty inbox... where have all disappeared. 🙁(
Yeah moozy, Though there's more time, am starting to get worried more.
Are programs just sitting on my app? is what's bothering me!
I never wanted weekend to end, but now am looking forward for the week in the hope we get more interviews. People started to get interviews this week. So am hoping I will listen from more programs next week.
Jackson memorial, Fl and Temple have not yet downloaded my application.
I applied to USC (LA) also but they have not downloaded my ERAS stuff. did you guys send paper application as mentioned on their website.
Arjun... I am also getting anxious now.. need some activity in my inbox otherwise on deep trouble. My seniors and peers say that 6-8 interviews are generally safe to get through match. I am still at 3; need 3-4 more to boost some confidence.

you rock!! drnomimi.
do all these great calls have anything to do with visa status.. meaning people requiring J1 or on GC have an edge in comparison to H1-B. I know for sure that the trend is in nephro and endo; must be the same in Pulm/CC. My freind's progream in Chicago is only looking at US citizens and GC at the moment; so visa requiring people get a shot afterwards. I hope that time comes soon.

comparing to the last year's thread, there have been very few interviews this year by the end of january...atleast on this forum. there could be several reasons for that
1. not a lot of people are participating in this forum this year
2. people who are participating are not qualified enough relative to last year's thread
3. programs are taking there own sweet time in sending out interviews (i think the economy has something to do with this😀)
4. they just won't send out anything (interviews/rejections) 😡😡😡
my pick is #3. what do you think???

pmdoc: I agree that the trends do not match with the last year's thread. I cannot say for programs but I am hearing everyday that generally it is jan/feb when people start getting invites. My seniors also tell me that the people needing visa are generally reviewed after the citizens have been reviewed; but drnomimi got some great invites despite needing visa. So all are just speculations. Lets jsut sit tight.

Hello folks!
I haven't posted on SDN or visited the site for a long time. Well, I am also applying to PCCM this year, and thought that I'd post both (a) my interviews and (b) a question.
I don't know my % rankings, but my USMLE scores are in the 200s-210s. I have some really amazing letters (per my letter writers), never published anything, but have a different perspective to PCCM - I want to integrate global and international health with PCCM. I think that, amongst my random interests and experiences in life, gave me some great interviews. I went to a well-ranked California school (UC) for med school, and am at one for residency. I went to Harvard for my MPH. I am a US citizen. Hmm...I'm also female, and although it's sad to say, I'm sure that has benefited me during this application cycle.
I applied really late, and my PD letter didn't get uploaded by ERAS until this week. Invites so far came this week and last week.
Invites:
UC Davis
UCSD
Harvard
Boston University
Brown
On Hold (means that they want to give me an interview but are out of interview spots):
Georgetown
Rejections:
None
I will keep you updated as the cycle/waiting continues. I am trying to focus on programs that will give me a chance to do international health/research, so we'll see what happens after the interview process.
Question:
Does anyone know when University of Pennsylvania is interviewing (ie, the interview dates)? I haven't heard from them, but am trying to do all my East Coast interviews in one week, so want to see if they interview the week I am heading out there. Thanks in advance.

I got the Cook county invite too... and looks like they give 1 of the 2 spots to an internal candidate every year ....
Tulane 😎
Rej: Don't ask - too many
Beth Israel IV done: small faculty, a lot of them left and they are on a hiring spree, interim PD wants to leave too, too much emphasis on CC rather than pulm, those guys are big in intervention including EBUS and airway mx, 10 other candidates were interviewing with me
...old building, small congested ICU, saw too many old vents in use...wow.

Not sure how it makes sense that I get interviews from Duke and Hopkins, but not UVa? Maybe that means that from here on out I'll be getting a bunch of rejections.
