Thanks for your advice! I have one other quick question-my cell phone contract ends in a couple weeks and I don't know if I should stick with Verizon or not since it only seems to work in certain places(plus I'm coming from AZ)-what service do you think works best around PCO/some of the different apartments? Thank you!

Hey guys
Does anyone live at lynwood or bromley apartments? Do, you recommend it? Any information would be helpful because i am going crazy with finding a safe apartment and colonade already has a watining list? 😱

Hey. I don't personally live at Bromley apartments, but I have a friend who lives there and was kind, I guess, to let me stay there while I was searching for an apartment. Here are my thoughts:
1) The hallways are extremely smelly and very dirty.
2) It smelt horrible the entire time we were there because they use some sort of fertilizer that infiltrates the apartments and is almost unbearable.
3) The apartment itself wasn't all that bad, but I could not imagine living there for an entire year.
4)Parking was somewhat of a problem and it was noisy in the hallways.
5) Last thing was that my friend said they found a dead body in a car a few months ago in the parking lot. Hmmmm...
Hope this helps some. Meadowbrook is extremely nice, a little pricey but nice. Jericho Manor was beautiful, but older. Greenwood Terrace was average, but a little older and not quiet as nice as some of the others. Brookview is very nice, but again a little expensive.

I've just recently come across this site. But, I would just like to introduce myself to the PCO's class of 2010. My name is Mia and I am from Richmond, VA. I will be living on the 11th floor of the Colonade Apts, which seem to be the most hated apartments. But, I can't wait to see everyone in the fall and congrats to all for getting in!!!!

I was told today that the financial aid office will be mailing out our packets soon. Be on the look out 🙂 Also, if you had a temporary address, make sure you notifiy admissions and the registrar of when to use your permanent address to ensure you recieve the information you need. I had a different address while I was in school, and although I graduated and called and changed the address on my matriculation form they still send things to the school address. Which isn't good because it takes sooo long for mail to get forwarded.

Question: on the housing page, I see where I can make a roommate profile, but what if I want to post housing information on the housing page; How do I do that? 😕

Good Luck to everyone, can't wait to meet ya'll! 😍

Would you have an interest in a Health Professionals Scholarship to fund your education?

Sorry for the delayed post I have been real busy in SEP at PCO and haven't been on here lately . . . HPSP is something that I have been considering . . . An airforce recruiter in Texas has been pretty persistant with me and even sent me an application . . . I think I should apply to for HPSP and see where it goes . . .

What's up PCO class of 2010?!?!?!?!?!!! My name is Chris and I am from Lincoln, Nebraska. Just to get it out there, I do not live on a farm nor do 99% of all the other people I know. I am not a cowboy...... or at least most of the time 😀 Anyway.... In college I majored in Biology, and minored in Chemistry. I am very excited about starting optometry school at PCO and getting to meet all of you. I love to have a good time and meet new people, pretty outgoing, and hard working. I love all sports esp. SNOWBOARDING (aka to RIDE). Any other snowboarders out there hit me up we will have to make time to find the slopes this next year. I just got a place at the Trilogy apartments second floor building #2. Kind of scary getting an apartment you have never seen. Hope it all goes well. Any other PCO people at Trilogy???? I would love to meet you.......I don't know anyone going to PCO at this time. Just thought it would be nice to meet people living close by, from PCO. Hope you're all having a great summer. See you soon.

I am not living in the triology, but it is down the street from Arcadia (I am in SEP and that is where PCO is housing us). There is a lot of construction going on over there, and it is in a very urban area (definitely takes some getting use to). But at least the wal-mart is close by (it isn't anything spectacular, but it can get the job done) and Pathmark (24 hr grocery store).

Hey everyone,
We all recently got an email about shadowing optometrists before the fall - and right now the schools internet is down so I can't re-read it... Do you guys know if this is something that is required for all incoming students? I have shadowed numerous optometrists already but not during this summer. Anyway, if anyone knows more than I do, lemme know! Thanks!

You have to fullfil:
1) OD
2) OD/OMD
3) Retail

IF you have any of these fill out one of those sheets and send it to Dr. Amos. You just have to fill out the name of practice, preceptor name, address, tel, etc. and write a short summary of what you learned and stuff.

😡 How long do we have to shadow?

I think they want us to shadow for 3.5 hours....Its not that bad but the part about finding an optometrist that is willing to be shadowed is not that good....hehehe

And I don't thin kthe chances are better for OD/OMD shadowing hehe

None of the doctors around here will let me shadow them! They say it violates HIPAA regulations. What should I do? 🙁

Maybe it has changed, but for class of 08 we got a list of doctors in the philly area that will let you shadow. It's just for one afternoon and most of the time you get to leave early. It's no big deal at all, you don't have to do it now, you have all year.

No, we have to do the retail location before school starts.

Hey guys,
I just finished my retail shadowing and I need to send in my form that was signed by the doctor. I don't know the woman's address that we have to send it to though! I tried calling the school but I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone, and she hasn't replied to my email, so I figured I'd see if anyone else could help me.
Thanks guys!

Hey, I think its [email protected] ??
We have to get the letter signed by our doctor? What if we e-mail it?

Okay-This question is for anyone/everyone who is familiar with the areas around school. What is the quickest/easiest way to get to PCO from say near North Wales, PA? Thanks! 🙂

Whats up Everyone. Hope you are all having a great summer. I was just wanting to know if there were any PCO students that are already living in Trilogy appartments. I just moved in and am looking for people to hang out with. Even if you don't live in Trilogy but are in the area I would love to start meeting people. Send a message or give me a call if you would like to hang out 402-770-6934. Talk to everyone laters

Would you be interested in meeting and discussing the scholarship? I visit PCO frequently and would welcome the opportunity to share our program with you and possibly have one or two of our future officers (HPSP recipients) attend. Since your scheduled graduation date is 2010, you would be eligible for a three year HPSP scholarship for the Army. The application deadline is 27December 2006. The board meets on 17 January 2006. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at Army Captain on this site or [email protected]
