haha, PCOM was definitely my hardest interview...and here i am too! I guess the fact that they were so hard-core impressed me 😛 I'm pretty sure PCOM will be a nice collection of over-achievers.
There already is one. Try searching without the PA. Its just PCOM class of 2012.
So when is someone going to make the facebook PCOM-PA Class of 2012 group...becuase its not going to be me...
i'm a *****. but, if you're going to be joining the facebook group, prepare for me to make you my friend....as i seem to be a complete facebook loser.
Hey guys... I interviewed on Feb 25th and got my decision last Saturday, academic hold for 2nd semester grades from my master's program 🙄 I'm still super excited, and I'm holding out hope!
Who is going to the open house on March 29th for new students? Do we need to go or is it just a way to meet your future class mates?
So I totally lied - I thought this was the luncheon that I went to for accepted students but apparently this is something different. I just got my invite today. I think I am going to go just because they gave us this fancy invitation. 😛 Anyone else going?
Hey guys,
I have an interview on March 31.
How long was it before you heard back from the school whether you got in or not?
About what proportion of interviewees are accepted? I think I saw somewhere before it was around 50%.
Any tips for the interview? Thanks guys.
Hey I was placed on the PCOM waiting list...did this happen to anyone else? My interview went sooo well so i was a little confused as to why this happened. Does anyone know how long it could be until i hear back, because I've been accepted somewhere else also.

I am still undecided at the moment. There is about a 50% chance I will be matriculating to PCOM, so I don't want to send in the RSVP until I am more sure. My top two choices will make decisions on me this month so that will be the deciding factor. Unfortunately, there aid packages will come in after the April 15th deadline, so I will likely be "purchasing" my education without a full awareness of the price 🙁

That's a bit of a bummer LShapely. Is there any way for you to get in touch with their financial aid office and find out if you can get at least get an idea of how much your package will be so that you can decide earlier. It almost seems to put you in an unfair position.
Well, PCOM is actually going to be pretty good about this. They said I can expect a package around the 1st of April, which gives me two weeks to decide. The other two schools are the problems. All I have to go on is that the average PCOM student has an average indebtedness that is higher than these two schools (based on USNews) and that both of those schools give out a higher percentage of grant and scholarship aid (but no totals of how much). This is further complicated by the fact that the school with the lowest level of indebtedness is a state school, and I am OOS there...plus they are raising their tuition. ARGH!
At least I can rest in the fact that I'll be going to a good school no matter what happens 🙂 This whole process would be a lot less stressful though if I had a sugermama.
I wish you the best though with your decision though of course, I would say screw the other two schools and come to PCOM!!![]()
I knew it was a recommendation, which is why I was confused. My gpa was a 3.9 and my MCATs are above the average..plus shadowed DO's, MD's, volunteered all over. I think I just applied too late. Oh well, I've accepted to PBL at LECOM and thats where I'm going I was just wondering what went wrong.Well, that might have been the problem. My interview went terribly, and was accepted 😱
Actually, what I have learned from this process is it is very hard to determine the decision you will receive based on how you feel after the interview. Actually, on my interview day, they told us that the interview functioned more as a recommendation than anything else. The committee can choose to overrule the suggestion of the interviewer, apparently.
I recently found out that my science adviser letter wasn't accepted as a science adviser letter. I fixed the problem but am wondering if I really have a chance for an interview at PCOM.
MCAT - 26Q
GPA - 3.2
I have interviewd at CCOM and ATSU-SOMA.
What are your thoughts?
questions for the PCOMers in their rotations,
- What is the best pda to get?
- Any compatibility problems?
- Are these any good: palm tx, hp hx2750.
- How about smartphones? are they practical for using apps?
- Does PCOM provide any pda applications for students?
tech forum doesn't help that much with this issue.
Thanks in advance.
OTL
PCOM actually provides an insane amount of pda software through the library easily 500 dollars (but probably more)...
...I have one and do not think it was worth it when i could have gotten to small books to meet all my needs.
a book with drug names and a stedmans pocket dictionary.
So I was complete back in November, but I retook my MCAT in January. I got a 20 last fall and retook it in January. I made a 25 this time. I have a 3.61 overall and 3.52 science. I called the week I faxed things to make sure they received the new score. They received the new score February 26th.
I was just curious to see if they are still sending out interview invites. Does anyone know when the last interview day is? Also, is the invite by mail, email, or phone? I'm back home for spring break and someone is checking my mail. I would really hate for my friend to read to me a rejection letter over the phone. Any input would be great. Thanks!

I do not want to be passing on false information but I think they are going to be done interviewing somewhere around the beginning of April. Another student at my interview mentioned that the admissions office told him this. True or False, I dont know. I do know that a friend of mine got an interview invite over two weeks ago for the very end of March. Because of that timeframe, I cannot imagine they are going be giving out a lot more interview invites unless they are interviewing well into April and/or have a lot of cancellations.

I just wanted to offer some hope to those that were placed on the waiting list. I interviewed Feb 20 something of last year at pcom. I was one of the last groups and I knew that a wait list could be in my future. I did really well in the interview but ended up getting wait listed.
I had been accepted by other schools so after I got over PCOM I just got excited about my second choice school. I sent the letter off holding my wait list spot with a "what the hell" mentality. I got everything setup at my second choice school including housing, financial aid, moving arrangement, sold all of my furniture because it was too expensive to move...
Then in early June while at Military training ( HPSP, check it out if you have not given it a thought. Meeting with a recruiter will not hurt anything, and you might like it) my wife calls me and let me know that I got off the waiting list and they want a deposit of 2400 if I want to go there. My first thought was to turn it down because it would be so much work to cancel all my plans and make all new plans for living in Philly. I decided that I would always regret it if I didn't go to my top choice so I plunked down my 2400 (not including the 1500 deposit I lot on the other school) and signed up.
Sorry for a long response. My basic message for those wait listed is to go on with things. Forget about the school that you are wait listed at. If you have other acceptances get excited about your second choice. If you don't, make a decision about your next step and go with it.
Sucks to be wait listed, but just try and forget about it
CONGRATS Petek!!!!
I think i said this earlier, but PCOM pulls people off the waitlist from now all the way until orientation week. Don't lose hope!
I am interviewing at PCOM at the end of the month and was not sure whether or not I should send my new MCAT scores from Jan. I did worse, but if you combine my highest sections I scored a point higher than my highest one day score. Thanks.
