I originally did not plan to send in a secondary to PCOM, but have completely changed my mind and sent in a secondary last week. I mentioned a personal reason as being one of the factors I would like to attend PCOM (my mother lives in the area and was in a severe car accident, and I would like to live as close as possible to her). I will have a retired faculty member and alumni write me a LOR to PCOM and I was going to ask if he could call them as well.

I have 25P MCAT and 3.64 GPA...any suggestions or should I loose all hope?

Oh and side note, my secondary was 1.5 pages long describing why I wanted to go to DO school and PCOM specifically, and I made a list of my health related activities. I was checking it today, and I had minor typos... (wrote alumni instead of alumnus, forgot a comma one spot, and one other minor mistake). As you can tell, I am freaking out about the whole thing right now.

Anyone? Should I call them? Please, I could really use some advice...

Sorry to hear about your mother.

But in reality, there's not much you can do about your application. Yes, you probably know that it's extremely late. And you probably know that PCOM receives a lot of applications and are usually slow with the process. I'm not saying you don't have a chance at all, all I'm saying is that there is a lot of odds against you. Don't worry about the grammar errors.

You can call them if you want, but I don't think that will change anything. Your stats are pretty average as well. I suggest not thinking about this too much and stress yourself out any further.

Just giving you my 2 cents, sorry if its not what you wanted to hear. Good luck and hang in there.

Thank you, and I really appreciate your honest advice rc4ch. I mentioned in my secondary that I have already been accepted somewhere else, but that PCOM is the school for me. Does anyone have the stats for last years class such as total applicants, GPA, average MCAT, total interviews offered.

I'm at a point where I rather reapply for next year and go here if possible because it is the only place I truly see myself being happy due to personal/other reasons. I just dont know what I can do at this point.

Also, it *might* work to your favor that you're from the area. If you don't get an interview during the next few months of this cycle, I would bet you would get one next cycle.

Hope isn't lost. Your GPA is above average compared to last year's class and your MCAT is almost spot on.

Shouldn't you be studying for this CMBM exam? And its weird that we posted replies at the exact same time.

OP: Your welcome.
