Peer letters

Hi,
I have a friend who is applying to a school that requires a peer letter and asked me to write one for her.
I am very grateful that she asked me and want to do my best to make sure that my letter helps. I assume it is not as important as the faculty letters, but I was just wondering how much weight it carries.

Also, what are the things that I should include in the letter? Is it going to be in a similar format of any letter of recommendation?

I have never heard of a peer letter for medical school. That's really weird.

same here. Apparently Florida State University requires one. I think it's one of the very few schools that do that.
