I did read that, it was in the May/June edition of The Penn Stater (my dad gets it), I thought it was a good read. 😉

specifically hershey's? i think i will also go w/ special dark...i'd have to see a listing. i do like european...specifically italian, chocolate much better though...they tend to be a lot smoother and richer....melt in your mouth and your hands 😀

Yes, but they will take SOME people off the WL, and some drop due to high OOS tuition and even high IS tuition makes them comparable to some OOS schools for some PA residents. I still love them though... I hope they love me too! Even if I don't get in I will always love PSU! 😍 Maybe I could do my residency there, or at least try when the time comes! 😀

LiL Info: I talked to a kid who goes to PSU, and just finished his first year. He said they had a 'large' amount of people pulled off the waitlist. He went on to say, that they pulled off about 25 people.

To me, 25 is not a lot, but miniscule in comparison to waitlist movement to a lot of other schools.

Yeah 25 is not very encouraging but they would probably have to admit 50 so that 25 accept.

I agree with apparition that they would probably have to call 50 to get 25, considering some people forget they're on the list and have already made other plans. So, we'll just have to wait and see

Someone posted a few pgs back that they sent out offers last year around June 15th. Do they send out a batch of offers for the waitlistees at once? And if you don't receive one then, you are all but rejected?

last year they notified WLers via phone call from June 15th all the way until the first day of class... it seemed like 4-5 SDNers got off on June 15th and posted, so it might have been a big batch at first, but who knows? 😕 It's a great mystery, we just have to be patient, which is way easier to say than do...

I just checked my mailbox, nothing. I'm not too far from PSU, so IF I get in, and IF they mail their notification, I should receive it within a day. I would actually drive down and pick up the stuff, if I could, hehe.

Last year, pretty much all notifications were via phonecall.

I called again today, hoping to squeeze some information. The secretary would not say anything, but said we will likely be notified by mail. But she may or may not have any clue whatsoever.

Thanks for the info LT2. Can anyone ever squeeze any info out of the admissions office? They are extremely secretive, even about when the waitlist moves. I just don't get that from schools. It's not like I can magically change the waitlist by snapping my fingers.

Yeah...the irony of living in az for me is that I will freeze in any other state during the winter but the az summer will give me skin cancer or melt me. at least in tucson it is alittle coller but once you reach a certain temp it really doesnt matter anymore.

Yeah, I get cold when it's in the 60's outside!!! If I were to move back to AZ after med school, I'd probably live in northern AZ (Prescott, Sedona, Flag)instead of Phx area...

I called again. They must hate me, if they know who I am. The secretary was not sure when there will be any movement. She was very iffy, but said maybe early July. She seemed to have no clue, or was really messing with my mind.

thanks Nas! They are always vague and usually kind of mean on the phone! 🙄 I haven't called to check on waitlist status, but the first time I called to schedule my interview and I didn't have my AMCAS ID# in hand, it took me a minute to find it and she about bit my head off!! 😱

Maybe we should try emailing them? They seem to be more polite that way, or at least they were when I emailed them to verify my LOIs 😳

Well I just called with an update on my application. I asked if it can still be considered this year and I was told that it can. So this could mean that they will be accepting off hold list or she was just trying to get rid of me.
