Did you (and your buddies) happen to give up your spot recently? I remember during late winter/early spring, some people who were WL at PSU got accepted around then. But these were folks who interviewed early and got in before the entire Waitlist hoopla post-May 15th.

Someone interviewed in March or February and posted that by that the dean said that by that date they had accepted 400 people. This doesn't really mean anything to us. But I remember seeting in several sources that Penn State accepts 1/3 of people they interview. They interview 900 so that would mean that they accept 300 people normally.

Why does it seem like the WL I'm on (and especially the few schools I really care for) are not moving at all. 😕

Hopefully some spots open up.

this is totally true for me as well w/ SLU in addition to PSU, their office claims at least to have taken some ppl off the WL, but NO ONE has posted on SDN. that seems strange to me, but maybe not everyone is addicted to SDN like us.

Yes, it definitley sucks that no one is dropping PSU, but if I had that acceptance, I sure as heck wouldn't drop it either! 🙁

there's still time guys! all hope is not lost I plan on emailing them every week to let them know I'm still interested. It can't hurt at this point!

that's whack - i was really counting on some waitlist movement. it def. seems like the waitlists that i'm on aren't moving, even if in past years the movement was vigorous...

It'll move guys. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that some PSU acceptances went out in August. Just gotta wait a lil longer than usual.

I hope you're right... as of now, leaving AZ for Missouri on August 1st, if PSU calls the week before or of PSU orientation, I'll just keep driving to PA! 👍 luckily KCOM's orientation starts a week after PSU's. I just put in my 2 week notice at work! yay!

well, i don't know if one or two people is considered "movement" (for slu), but yeah, might have to keep hope alive...it's why i'm holding off on amcas for a wee bit longer...

Still no movement from PSU. They don't know if and when it'll move. I called the admissions office.

It's really about time for them to know. Orientation is like in 2 weeks.

Yup I called late last week and was told that this year is strange because they have seen NO movement - by this time they have usually taken several people of the waitlist. At the moment they have more students than seats so they expect to see very little or no waitlist movement this year. Pretty sad coming from my top choice school! 🙁

I figured they over-accepted... wow, that's not good for them if not enough people drop, and that REALLY sucks to be US! 🙁 the die-hard waitlisters who really wanted to go there w/ no hope... 🙄 they were my 1st choice too Moose 🙁 At least they were honest, got to give them credit for that!
