Do you know anyone who was interested in psych, but then switched to another specialty? Which specialty and what were their reasons? I've met many people who switched into psych after rotating through it in medical school, but I'm curious about the other side.

I can’t think of anyone offhand that came in thinking psych and switched to something else. That being said, I think that’s at least partly due to the fact that very few come in thinking psych in the first place. Changing your interests once things start is the norm, not the exception, however. Hell, I knew for a fact I was going to do EM when I started med school, then I screwed up and fell in love with psych.
