I have been a GT/Firecracker user since the first couple of weeks of M1. I am now trying out a Trifecta of engaging resources with my courses and step 1 prep (could this be a prep syndrome?). I picked up Picmonic during the intro to pathology/microbiology/immunology course we take at the end of first year and it was golden. Just ordered pathoma about a month ago.

Anyone else going a similar route? Should go without saying that First Aid is there too, which has been slowly collecting annotations and acts as the backbone of my resources.

No more resources for me!

I'm doing something similar but substituting Anki in place of Firecracker. I started Pathoma halfway through MS1 (integrated systems curriculum) and picked up Anki and Picmonic this summer.

One thing I saw mentioned in the 2013 Step 1 thread that seems golden for my learning style is doing a screen cap of the Picmonic card, throw it into Keynote/Powerpoint, print, and annotate with a pen. I also saw others mention throwing screen caps into Anki or some other electronic flashcard program for quick review. Just thought I'd throw those methods out there for those without the time to shift through that beast of a thread.

I used GT/FC as another (supplement) resource for studying through MS1, I found it helpful. I was not always banking cards and doing mad questions daily, primary reviewing the cards and flagging topics that were particularly relevant to the coursework at the time. I used it a few times for test prep, which was hit or miss at times depending on the amount of other topics that had scheduled review.

I found that reading a card before and after studying the corresponding topic in picmonic was pretty helpful in reviewing. I am going to try to organize a review schedule for the picmonic cards to help nail in those micro+antibio topics.

This. The two programs combined are golden. I've stopped going through FC for the timed review since I simply don't have the time, but I'm going to wipe everything and go through all the bugs/drugs/biochem/storage diseases together. This works for anything that's brute memorization.
