Hi everyone,

I'm a graduating medical student from a reputable school in the south. I didn't match and had no luck in the scramble.

My application for this season was late (mid-December) because I had to retake Step 2. Overall, I'm an average student, with two Condition/Pass during my clinical years, but I've improved greatly over the course of the year and I would say my knowledge base is strong and my work ethic is great (now, much improved since I started).

My scores: Step 1: 191/78, Step 2 CK: 226/99 on my second attempt, and Step 2 CS: Pass.

I'd like to get into an Internal Medicine position (either Categorical or Preliminary) anywhere rather than take a year off and do research. My end goal is to be a Hospitalist. I'm open to Family Medicine as well.

I can get you in contact with my Dean's office and they can send you my ERAS application with my letters of recommendations if you'd like.

Congrats on the great score on 2nd attempt I guess that is an achievement and am sure you have improved drastically in order to get that score. Did you get a residency position ? I wish you all the best if you didn't but I hope you do get. I am actually inspired reading about you.
I have a similar story as of now with a low step 1 score of 82/200 and step 2 ck failed attempt, I am about to retake my step 2 CK exam in a month's time and I want to score a 240 +. Reading your post, I think you are my role model as of now cuz only you can tell how to prepare differently or what to tweak in the preparation for CK in order to get 99 after a failed CK attempt and a low step 1 score. I would be highly obliged if you can help me as I still have time and I want to have the best plan I really am desperate for a good score.
