PGY1 to PGY2

When choosing to do a PGY2 residency, do most of you stay at the same hospital where you did your PGY1 residency...(if they offer the specialization)? Or do you choose to go somewhere else? Some programs offer an early commit to their PGY2. I would like to know opinions. I heard from others that sometimes it's better to go somewhere different...change of atmosphere, etc.

Also, what is your opinions on doing a 24 month pharmacotherapy residency?
