I've been looking at doing PH with a focus on Nutrition. Thats what I'm really interested in studying. But I was talking with a woman in an admissions department who said that its basically a worthless degree unless you are a registered dietitian. Has anyone else come across this or heard this?! :(

I have not heard such a thing, and I am pursuing the same thing basically, a general MPH with nutrition electives. My goal is to work for the USDA (I've been working in the veterinary field for a while now and plan to go to vet school). What do you plan to do with your degree?

If you want to become a clinical dietitian, then a MPH by itself wouldn't be adequate because it lacks the proper clinical electives. But generally speaking, the MPH isn't a clinical degree, and the only school I can think of off the top of my head that offers a MPH + RD combination is North Carolina.
