Hi forum,

I am confused about a section of the PharmCas PS prompt😳

"how the Doctor of Pharmacy degree relates to your immediate and long-term professional goals. "

By immediate goals, are they talking about your goals in pharmacy school before you get your PharmD? or are they talking about immediate goals after you become a pharmacist?

so far, I am talking about my goals if I get accepted such as starting campus organizations and stuff like that. But I feel like that is completely OUT of the context of this prompt.😕

PS:I know exactly what I want to say, who typing it up would be such a challenge?🙄

Hey dude, I'm also just finishing up my PS and I only talked about my long term goals for after I graduate. As for your plan of starting school organizations, maybe you should try talking about that in the supplemental essays and make them more school specific. That will make you stand out anyways.

I agree with the previous poster. Just talk about your long goals in pharmacy and then once you start working on your supplemental essay you can be more specific in terms of student organization and what your plans are in pharm school. Good luck xx!

Thanks for the answers. But I've been to writing workshops and preadvising centers. They all say. ANSWER the Pharmcas Prompt completely! And part of the prompt asks you how pharmacy will relate to your immediate short term goals. Not answering this and only talking about long term will put you at a major disadvantage

In that case, you should definitely trust your pre-pharm advisors.
I, personally, can't think of any short term goals though.

I think what they meant by short term was like.. as you graduate, who field you're looking into, or if you want a residency or fellowship, that type of thing. And then long term goal would be- what would be your ultimate dream in pharmacy (things you wouldn't do right way- like be a DM or RM or open your own pharmacy, etc).
