Question.

If I submit my Pharmcas App before a school's deadline (December 1st for Midwestern University-Glendale ), but they take 2-5 weeks to calculate the GPA, does my application not count as being in before the deadline for that school?

It still counts. The E-submit date is what counts.

submitted mine 11/5 got calculated today 11/19 !!!! lower than i expected tho🙁
do they go in a specific order? i submitted mines on the 3rd and it still isn't done.

Pharmcas calculated my GPA. I just check and from what I remembered from the last cycle, it is off by a little. How can that be? Same transcript, same school. Confused here. Any input? Thanks.

i totally agree, my grades improved from the last cycle and yet my pharmcas transcript went lower???????????/:scared:

i thot they did, but i guess its sometimes random

Just got calculated today🙂

I really don't like PharmCAS anymore. Yes, it's costly to apply through them, and you can apply to many schools, but this year, they won't consider my transcripts (Canadian), they emailed me saying I was rejected from my early decision choice (before my scheduled interview), and haven't updated my profile yet, saying I was indeed accepted to my early decision choice. I'm only glad I will NEVER use their service again.

The reason why I posted my commit on here is because I did not want to start another thread and the title that I wanted to use was represented on this one.

In the future, you should just make a new thread especially if your question does not relate to the original topic of the thread. I've noticed people tend to get mad when old threads are dug up, so your question might not get answered.

o.k.

I am currently a student at a large university with a certain college number (23). Now on pharmcas they have an example of "Chem 101". My question is do I have to put my college number while I enter my grades in pharmcas? Such as do I have to put 23Chem 101 or just Chem 101?

I am really confused. I thought you said you were already accepted into a pharmacy school...

Why is your gpa being calculated and why are you planning on taking the pcat if you're already accepted? Just curious.

I like to make people confuse, especially Calisoca.

November 1st, and nothing here. You're not alone. 🙂

they have calculated my GPA before 6 days, i am waiting for them to mail my application then i will wait. GPA is lower than what i expected, i called them and talked to them but it is useless..one course i took was for 5 hours, pharmcas calculated as 9 hours..wtf 😡

Hi,
I just had a quick question. When you send your app into PharmCAS do you need to send the payment for all your schools in at once. I'm applying to 2 schools w/ deadline 12/1 and then a few in Jan and Feb and March. I sent in all my transcripts, LORS, etc ... its just the payment that worries me.

Do i need to send the entire amount in now for all those schools even thought I still haven't decided which schools to apply, (the list keeps getting longer)? It seems unfair to keep paying 140 each time I send in a new payment as well as to pay the entire amount even before I've been able to confirm my decision to apply to the Feb and March deadline schools. I want to do more research (this is the first time I'm applying).

I would really appreciate it if someone could please respond and let me know. Thanks.

My understanding is that you have to pay for the schools as you apply. For example: You want to apply to two schools with 12/1 deadlines. You have to pay for those schools when you submit. Then you decide you want to apply to a school with a 2/1 deadline. You can add that school later and pay for it then. However, you can neither remove schools nor get a refund.

Check pharmcas for a better understanding.

It amazes me how many people fail to read or at least reference the PharmCas instructions. Didn't your middle school teachers ever say, "now make sure you read the instructions before you start kids!" You can add a new school at any time to your list and pay for it once you add it. You do not have to pay 140 each time, just 40 for each additional school you add. However, you can't remove a school or get refunded once you have paid for it.

I just got it today.....it's about 3 weeks and 1 day..hichichcih...finally....also..today is sunday..will my applications get mailed out tomorrow or the following monday then???

btw...i'm wondering which one will be the one the school looks at...is that the overall gpa based on the category or based on the courses......

Add ONLY the schools you want to apply to for the Dec deadline, then submit with payment. Your payment will be the standard PharmCAS fee plus an additional $40 for each school you apply to. Next month, you can then add schools with the later deadline and you will only have to pay an additional $40 per school.

I know that Pharmcas ask for all the jobs that you work at, but what if you didn't have a good relation with one of your bosses or you left in a bad way. Should I still put down that I worked there. I worked there for about 6 months so I dont know.

IMO, nothing on the application will scream "I had a bad experience!" based on what you write alone. You worked there, and you're just listing (literally) that on the application without further details besides obviously duration and pay. If there were any grounds for further investigation (which you probably wouldn't be able to even FIGURE OUT that you had problems with a supervisor from the app unless you state it somewhere), then that would pose a slight problem but as of right now I think you should still include it! 6 months is still 6 months, and a job is still a job.

Hi,
A payment gateway serves as a link between the eCommerce website's shopping cart and the merchant processing bank's system. You can get more information from merchantacquiring(dot)co(dot)uk

I never mentioned that I worked for my dad installing security systems. I included all the relevant jobs that I have/had, including lab TA & pharmacy tech.

Hello.

Does anyone know what day or dates Pharmcas supposedly sends out applications? I was expecting it to be sent out last monday, and really thought it go out today. Anyone got their mailing status changed recent? ~week or so. Thanks

I thought mine would go out yesterday as well, but I guess the holiday messed them up. But you had yours done before last Monday? You could always email pharmcas, they are pretty quick at responding. If you find out let us know.

Has your PharmCAS GPA been calculated yet? They don't mail anything out until GPA has been verified obv. But if it already has, probably just give it a few days? I'm sure there's a lot of applicants who submitted over the past few weeks for the 12/1 deadline.

It has been a week or so since my GPA was calculated and I called them about mailing dates. They told me they have no fixed mailing days, and I should expect it to be sent out this week.

I esubmitted on Veteran's Day and my GPA was just calculated today...so I concur..three weeks.

PharmCAS calculated my GPA nearly 2 weeks ago, and my application is still not mailed. Does anyone know if it takes several days for them to update the status on the website after mailing or is the application status on the website current?

There is not mailing this week because of Thanksgiving last week. The next mailing should be the week of Dec 8.

I spoke to someone at Mercer on Monday to check on my status and they said they hadn't gotten October PCAT scores in yet, but were set to get them TODAY.

I'm not sure how this mailing thing works, but I know mine was set to be mailed out (Monday) Nov. 17th, but Cincinnati actually received it the day it was to be "mailed" I'm thinking some of these things may be sent electronically, or is just mailed whenever. I had checked my status at about 5 am that morning and saw that my status had changed to mail, but got the email from uc when I got home that evening from work. I thought it was strange, but figured that's just technology.

Good luck.

PharmCAS frustrates me. Sometimes they'll send it out quickly, sometimes they'll send it out after a long time.

They still haven't sent out apps that I had requested over a week and a half ago! To make the matters worse, one school's deadline already passed. 🙁

As long as you e-submitted on time it shouldn't matter when PharmCAS mails it out if all your material was there on time.

Hi,
Online payment processing is made possible by middle-men or facilitators known as merchant services providers. These companies in most parts are regular lenders - some traditional and non-traditional -who offer several online payment solution packages for business owners. You can get more related information on www(dot)merchantacquiring(dot)co(dot)uk.

I am in the same spot you guys are. My GPAs were calculated almost 3 weeks ago, and in the email it said my apps would be mailed the "next mailing date." Since it seemed that at least a couple mailing dates should have gone by, I emailed them and this is the response I got:

PharmCAS does, on average, one weekly mailing per mailing cycle. It should be said that PharmCAS could produce more than one mailing per week, but there is no way for Applicant Support Representatives to know if that is the case (the same can be said for WHEN they mail the applications out also).

Regardless, your Pharmacy designations have access to your application status online. And again, once the hard copy is mailed, the schools will have immediate access to an electronic backup file of your application that we send them directly.

So, no real answer as to WHY it is taking them so long to mail them out...

wow thats wierd, i guess they do it randomly cuz i e-submitted on the 5th of november, got my gpa like on the 20th, then mailed on the 24th 😀

so it is probably just randomly

I've already submitted my PharmCAS application before December 1st, and I submitted my college transcript about a month before that. When I checked today, it says it still has no GPA calculations for me. I do have AP credit for certain classes, and I was just wondering if that affects how long PharmCAS takes to do the GPA calculations. Should I get AP transcripts sent to PharmCAS? I haven't paid for my AP Scores to be sent to PharmCAS or any of my schools. Should I do that now? Is the lack of the AP score reports what's holding up my GPA calculation?

Any advice or insight into this would be helpful. Thanks.

Your AP scores/credit should already be on your college transcript. When you submit PharmCAS, it can be up to 5 weeks until they calculate your GPA, regardless of how long they have had your transcripts. Your transcripts just sit in a file until they get their money, basically.

Expect to wait at least 3 weeks for a calculation at this point in the cycle.

AP scores won't affect anything. I submitted mine with quite a few APs early in the cycle and the calculations were made immediately.

side question (Related): what do you do if your university does not list AP credit on the official transcript (for me it just shows up as Advanced Placement: 18.00 units earned).

calculus is one of those classes....

I just got my GPA calculations from PharmCAS. Under the section where they calculate your overall GPA, there is another section with what I'm assuming to be just your science/Pre-pharmacy courses. For me, I didn't take introductory Biology in college because I'm a biological engineering major and my school allowed me to place out of it with my AP Bio score. However, under the course section for Biology and Other Life Sciences, it says I have 0 credits. I'm pretty sure my college included my AP Scores on my transcript. I don't know why PharmCAS lists I have 0 credits. I didn't write in the AP Score under the courses section of the PharmCAS application and it's too late to update that section now. What should I do??

I think you were supposed to include your AP courses on your PharmCAS. You list AP Biology, and then put in 'Credit' as the class type. I think you should email them about this. They've been pretty helpful whenever I had questions.

anyone ever have a problem with pharmcas not receiving transcripts?

i ordered both transcripts from my university and community college. pharmcas received the uni one last week but doesn't show the CC one. so i reordered another CC. the transcript is the last thing before my main app is complete. anyone have issues? or is this normal.

sometimes community colleges take longer to send transcripts. it could be that pharmcas hasn't received them yet. i know that my community college transcripts took very long to get to pharmcas (maybe 2 weeks after). universities are generally quicker with transcript service because they don't send them as often as community colleges (i think).

I emailed them and got a reply. They said that my school didn't separate my AP Scores into categories, and just lumped all of them as 22 Credits transfered from AP scores. So, my AP Biology credits don't show up on my PharmCAS GPA calculation, and it says I have 0 credits in Biology and Other Life Sciences!! 😱😱😱

I'm am so freaked out right now. I already applied to University of Maryland, and their supplemental didn't have a section where you specifically list out your pre-requisite courses so I could make it clear that I DO have credits in Introductory Biology. What should I do???? I'm still planning to apply to a few other schools, hopefully they have supplementals where I list out the pre-requisite classes so I can make it clear that I have fulfilled the Introductory Biology credits requirement, but since I've already submitted my application to UMD, what should I do about that??

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not on the Admissions Comittee or anything, but why don't you submit a letter or AP score report and they'll probably stick it in your file?
