did anyone write to pitt and ask for approval of foreign coursework for a prereq? i wrote to the dean several months ago and never got a response. anyone else in this same position? i was wondering if i should contact them about this or what...

my entire degree was foreign - they didn't seem to mind. I never wrote and asked for exemptions etc.

oh... ok.
it said something about having to write a letter for any foreign prereqs when i read the secondary. i took one bio class in england. hmph. oh well. they don't seem to like me anyway.

Hey lola, I know you answered a question about foreign transcripts before. Do you request a transcript for amcas for the study abroad school, or does your main school's count?

wardens,
it depends what school you went to when abroad. if it was an american school (there is a list of schools in the instructions), they need your transcript. if not, they don't want it. my foreign grades didn't appear on my home school transcript (only p/f appeared) & i did not go to an american school abroad, thus med schools have no idea how i did that year. if the grades appear on your home school transcript even if the school wasn't an american school abroad, i think they will be calculated into your gpa even though amcas doesn't want your transcript. your best bet would probably be to read the instructions on the amcas website for details (unless someone else remembers for sure??) as it's been so long my mind is a little fuzzy!

If you're still concerned, it would be worth it to call Pitt and make sure. You wouldn't have to give your name or anything. They are really nice in that office--well, maybe I'm biased because that's my home school, but it can't hurt to call.
