Please fill in accordingly: how do schools make acceptance offers?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So...has anyone heard anything about Minnesota? All of the other schools I interviewed at are up there, but there's nothing about that, and I can't remember what they said/if they said anything.

I talked to WVU yesterday and they said for those of us who had an interview on the 18 of November to expect something mid to late december....they are running behind. She also said if for some reason you don't hear by the end of december to give them a call.

josh,

Do you know about how many people WVU is interviewing? any information would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Well they didn't say....at my interview their were twenty and the girl said last year they interviewed about 175 so...if you get an interview you have about a 25-30 percent chance of getting in

Hrmmm. Does anyone know if UCSF sends acceptance info in the mail, in addition to calling?

Today I got a call (answered by my sis-in-law since I'm out of town) asking to verify my address because they're mailing stuff out to students who have already had interviews "soon" 😱 I guess it is a good thing they called since apparently an extra digit had been added on to my address, lol. Now I just hope this isn't a rejection! 🙂 If it is I'll wish it had been sent to the wrong place 😛

good luck to everyone waiting 👍

bump it up!

For those who are waiting for midnight.

I was going to make a thread like this but found this one via search. There's still a few schools missing. If anyone can help fill these in that would be awesome!

yep, i can confirm what was posted above about Indiana.....call after 2PM on Nov. 30 (that's what the email said)

So is UNC calling on Nov 30th for sure then? since Dec 1st is on a Saturday? anyone know?

Same question for Columbia and Penn, does anyone know if we will get notified on the 30th? Also, would we be called insane if we called on the 30th to get an answer by phone?

Essentially, depending how this dec 1st period, i may or may not have to cancel some other interviews

According to the information on this thread, Columbia and UPenn mail out letters and since the mail does come on Saturday I would guess that you should recieve a letter IF you are accepted.
Don't EVER call a school to ask for an answer....I wouldn't call a school at all b/c it just slows down their process and piss them off...

SELECTION MEETING
LETTERS ARE MAILED TO SELECTED CANDIDATES

Pittsburgh: call on dec 1st (unless rose loses her voice like last year and finishes the calls on dec. 2nd)

I thought Rose called us on the 3rd of december - that's what I thought she said.

As for Harvard - I thought they called only on the 1st (not next business day too)

Can anyone clarify either of those?

How about Loma linda?

I think I got my rejection from them thru AIM...."your application will no longer be considered. lol."

seriously, does it matter?
