HI i am totally new to this forum,i am an indian dental graduate(bds) and i 'm interested in doing my post graduation in us,and i have no idea how to proceed for it,please guide me.From the internet i could understand that i need to take nbde exams,do i need to do any thing else to be eligible for the exams.
what books should i choose to prepare for the exam.
i would sincerely appreciate your help,thankyou.

You have to take Toefl and then Evaluation of your certificates from ECE.Please go to their respective sites. then you have to choose the colleges which give you student visas. To my knowledge most of the east coast Universites give them. Hope this helps

hi sanhya, i am a dental grad from india too. i am in the us right now and pursuing MDS in os as well in india.
there r colleges that offer resedencies to foreign trained grads too. there is one in texas. but for that u will have to clear nbde 1 and 2 with flying colours, i.e. around 85 in nb1 and over 90 in nb2. i know someone in texas doing residency without doing schoolong here.
what college r u from? i would advse u to finish schooling here b4 doing the residency coz things here r very different from the way we have it in india.

For MS: Ideal (althought there is no minimum) cases are as follows: clear NBDE-I and II well (high 80's or 90's), TOEFL and some Univ's require GRE also (check the program-like ortho, endo,perio or prostho etc). Research background will def be a plus and so is work exp alhtough not that important for MS. If u want to be into academics, it helps the cause of getting in as they want people to become researchers and professors.
Since u r BDS, you will not get stipend and the overall cost will be (median) arounf $75K tuition for 2.5-3 years. drawback is u can work (if later) in only a limited no of states!! check ADA for more details.
