Please share your experience in the first months of the IPD/PASS Program

I have not seen a thread like this in the forum... Could anyone who was admitted to and has been attending/attended an Advanced Standing program (IDP/PASS etc) at any University in recent years share their experiences? What were most important things to prepare yourself to the study? What were the key experiences during the initial "spring/summer" course? What advice can you give to those admitted this year? I know those experiences will depend on the school and individual situations, yet maybe there're some important things for all of us to know. Thank you in advance!

I was told that the review session (usually first two or three months) of some IDP program were so intense that some students almost could not make it. So be mentally prepared. It won't be easy.

This is a very important question, and am really glad you asked this question. i hope some current students or aspirants with friends in dental school, look at this post and respond. Majority are like us , wannabes. My own understanding is that some or good amount of practical skill will be involved in the prep courses of PASS( Penn) , IDP ( UCSF) so if you get a chance to practice on a typodont before getting into school( esp where they mention stuff like provisional admission ...), regardless of whether there is a bench test or not. Maybe not the case with BU. Then again it's all my imagination, I dont really know the inside story. So please if anyone has info please share it generously!
