I matched transitioanl but not anesthesia .cant access the list.Thnaks
Did you rank Anesthesia programs above ranking transitional? What did your email say? I'm worried b/c my email said "you have matched" but I ranked transitionals only at the end.
Will NRMP tell me whether or not I matched into ANE with the prelim or just a prelim? I also ranked several prelim programs at the end of my list.
Assuming you had a supplemental list of internships attached to each advanced anesthesia program, "you matched" means you matched either a categorical anesthesiology program, or a combination supplemental internship/primary anesthesiology program. One other possibility I'm not sure of is that if you rank internships on your primary list after all anesthesiology programs, it could still say "you matched", if you didn't match a primary anesthesiology program, but did match an internship, if internships were included at the end of your primary list. There must be a mechanism to inform applicants of this eventuality though, because those people would want to scramble for an anesthesiology slot.
I just spoke with NRMP (35 minutes on hold). They clarified it all for me.
NRMP message -You've matched to a one year program.
Means you matched to an internship
The point I'm trying to make here is that they tell you if you've only matched to a one year program.
So no worries here anymore. WooHoo!
