I need some advice from the mom-pods. I was married recently and am now thinking about the big "kids" question. Are there any women pods out there with any insight/advice on this? I'm thinking if my husband and I do decide to have kids, that waiting until residency starts would be ideal, but I'm not so sure... It's a very personal decision, I know, but any insights you'd be willing to share into what worked/didn't work for you, or general advice on the subject would be great.

Oh, and if any guys out there have something to say on the topic, I'd like to hear from you too. 🙂 Thanks so much!

I think everyone says that there is never a "good" time. I think school is the better time to get pregnant. Schools are more forgiving than co-residents and programs.

Also, getting pregnant while in reisdency means being pregnant near the C-arm (x-ray) and while working like a dog on your feet all day. At least in school you can sit for most of the day.

And once you have the kid it is best if you are near a support system of family willing to help raise your children.

Most of the people that I knew in school that had kids or got pregnant while in school had their parents live very close if not in the same house and they helped take care of the kids.
