Is it possible to take the MCAT in September and still get in somewhere? I submitted my AMCAS application and I am verified but I might end up having to take the MCAT in September. I am super worried now.

Thank you

It's a bit late but that alone won't deny u a seat somewhere assuming ur application is strong and u interview well.

FYI: I completed my secondaries in late October and did just fine.

September is the latest mcat most schools will accept, if you already have mcat and not satisfied with it go ahead and take it, but like ColeOnTheRoll said you will be at disadvantage.

I am taking MCAT in september... I will just apply SMP since it's too late for MD.

I'd suggest waiting until next cycle, unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket. You maximize your chances by applying early, and you'll minimize the amount you have to spend by applying only once.

I'm taking mine at the end of July, so I my applications won't be complete until Sept. 1 or thereabouts. How big of a problem will this be?

Applying doesn't mean you won't get in if your application is very strong. If you application isn't super strong then it might hurt you. So perhaps instead of getting 5 interviews you might only get 1 or 2.

I definitely think I would have done better last cycle if I applied earlier. However at the same time, I know people who applied the earliest and didn't get in at all. So wait if you can and apply if you have to.

I took Sep MCAT and did well. I was on the tail end of the interview trail, but as long as you are able to sell your soul its no problem. Just make every menial thing you did important if it comes up in an interview, and let the ass kissing begin.

You must have had very good stats.

Yes, it's possible to get in applying very late. No, it's not ideal.

You may be passing up opportunities to get into cheaper (if that's important to you), more prestigious (if that's important to you) or local (if THAT'S important to you) schools.
