Hello folks,

I went to school 10 years back, was a Philosophy and Economics double major, and Math minor (don't ask why). Despite straight As in Philosophy and Econ, I had about a B- avg in Math. I just finished my Post-Bacc with a GPA of 3.4 but my Science GPA including all my original math courses is a 3.1. My overall is 3.7.

Does anyone know if this would be a big problem or if schools would ignore it since it happened over a decade ago?

It will still be taken into consideration, but what I think they will really look at is what you have done since you graduated a decade ago

You need to prove that you can handle med school NOW, not ten years ago. A 3.4 in a post-bac isn't that great... you need to be aceing these things, not Beecing them

A 3.1 sGPA with your most recent program being a 3.4 is a little on the lower end... I don't think schools will ignore it, rather, I think they would want proof that you are currently able to handle the academic rigor of medical school... I am not sure a 3.4 in a post-bac does that, and the 3.1sGPA does not help your case... I think it will be an long uphill battle to get into an MD school with these stats, perhaps consider doing a very science heavy DIY post-bac at your local community college (you will need to get a very high GPA here) and then maybe apply very broadly to both MD and DO... will still be an uphill battle, but I think it will slightly improve your chances.
