If USC is on your list, Columbia maybe a better bet coz you have to take your own stuff for the bench test and they use Columbia. UCSF and Pacific use Kilgore. Its your judgment. Ditto for mannequin. The dentoforms come w/ articulated jaws.

Thanks La fea;
I am planning to apply to USC, Pacific as well as UCSF. My concern is that, is practicising on articulated dentoform sufficient or phantom head is essential for practicising . Does the articulated dentoform have limited opening ie the accessibility is similar to when they would be placed in the phantom head ? Also how difficult is the bench tests for the above colleges?
Thanks in advance.

Its up to you. I did not use a mannequin head. Also in Pacific and USC you do the exam bench top ie no mannequin. But UCSF yes, on mannequin. Actually you can go to SF a few days early and practice in the UCSF lab.

hey i want to start practicing for bench tests for all these schools in my home too. can u tell me what all materials ,instruments are necessary for me to do that at home and where do i get them from? thanks..

I am going to prepare for the UOP bench test. Could you guys tell me which precedure I should prepare for? I mean, tooth cavity, wax-up or some other things? I can do some practice in the near dental school, sharing tools with some dental students I know. So the only thing I am concerning is what they are gonna test on.
