If I have no possible idea what an answer could be for a practice passage problem, should I look up the answer in my notes or should I guess and read the rationale from my book?

If you're doing it timed right then, put your best guess down and come back to it when you review.

On the real test, you won't be able to refer to anything so you should practice your intuition as well.
