Practice Tests vs. Real MCAT Scores for August 04

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was scoring anywhere from 32-36 on my practice tests (Kaplan). I got a 33R.. but my real MCAT VR section was the lowest of ANY of the tests (practice and real) that I took. ****

Compare and contrast your practice test scores with your real august test score.

I was scoring in the low 30's on practice tests and got a 38 on the real one. Used ExamKrackers and had Kaplan practice tests.

yeah the last practice i took was AAMC #7 and i got a 36, i got a 35M on the real thing but my verbal was at a low....got a 10....(even lower than my practices), though i shouldn't be complaining, its still annoying when you don't outperform your practices on the real thing

AAMC Practice Test #7 = 25

Real thing = 23Q

😡 😡 😡

I got five 31's (All 11P 9V 11B) in a row on the aamc and tpr practice tests before the real mcat. I thought I bombed physical in the real one average on verbal and good on bio. I was guessing anywhere between a 25 to a 30 depending on how well i guess and how good the curve was.

Got a 31L on the real thing (13P 8V 10B)

go figure.

Real Test: 34R 14/9/11

DAMN YOU DRAKE...I wasted about 25 minutes on that stupid passage...ended up guessing blindly on about 5 questions and doing a half a$$ job on the second to last passage(8 questions)...tip for people taking the test, if the first passage you see is tough and it takes more than 2-3 minutes to read through it, or its just plain confusing for that first 2-3 minutes,...skip it...might as well make that the passage you guess blindly on. Other than that AAMC tests provide good practice for physics and biology. However, i thought the biology on the real test was a tad bit harder and the way the worded questions was sort of difference from these practice tests.

I took 7 Kaplan practice exams, my range was consistently between 32-36. I ended up with a 35. Interestingly, I could never break 12 on the BS Kaplan tests, but got a 13 on the real thing. I usually got 12 or 13 on PS and VR Kaplan tests, but got 11's on both on the real thing. It seems to suggest that Kaplan's BS sections are harder than the real thing, but their VR and PS are easier than the real thing. Or maybe it's the fact that I kept having to pee (thanks to my addiction to coffee) during the morning section of the real MCAT?

Kaplan ranged from 26-31 at the end
AAMC ranged from 26-30

I was working a full week while trying to study...

Fluctuated on Bio from 10-13, toward the ends was getting 11-12s
Physics fluctauted from 8-10, got an 11 once on Kaplan.
Verbal, from 8-10s, got an 11 once, but was getting 9-10s on Examkrackers (which didn't help shiet).

Real thing:
V:8, P:10, B:11, W: Q. Im happy about physics, neutral on Bio, and PISSED off about Verbal. I am actually happy about the writing score, but nobody gives a shiet.

I tripped out during verbal because I started reading the longest passages, which ended up being the hardest of them all. I decided to do that because I wasn't able to finish verbal sometimes for practice. DONT DO THAT!

I am considering re-taking, but damn, its probably good just to stick with it. I don't want to look like the ppl that get 30s and decide to retake, you people are crazy because your more worried about where you will get in instead of that fact that you want to become a doctor. GROW UP AND SUCK IT UP! I do wish I had a better score, but damn what can you do? Im not risking a backtrack on any one of my scores.

I pissed about verbal, F U DRAKE. What ever happened to that one girl that was always complaining about Drake, looks like she walked the plank. WHAT HAPPENED PSYCHO DOCTOR! I THINK YOU KILLED HER!

besides the first test, on which I scored 31, I scored between 37-38 on the rest of the in-center kaplan tests. On the other kaplan tests (which where harder) I got 34-35. On the AAMC tests, I got between 38 and 40, I think. All of the writing sections I had graded were T's.

I got a 38T on the real thing, which is good...I was hoping for 40 though.

same score as practice test 7: 39
Everything else was lower (kaplan practice tests [9 of them] and aamc's)

Ok I'll go in PS, VR, BS order.

aamc 4 = 9, 11, 11 = 31
aamc 5 = 10, 9, 11 = 30
aamc 6 = 9, 12, 10 = 31
aamc 7 = 9, 11, 11 = 31

real deal = 8, 10, 12 = 30R

I got a 24 on Kaplan's diagnostic, bombing verbal and bio. For the full-lengths, I usually scored a 32-34, with ~13 in physical, ~9 in verbal, and ~12 in bio. On the real thing I got: 14P, 9V, 13B, so I did the same on verbal and a little better in the sciences. I think a couple passages really messed me up on verbal.

ok...im have a good sucess story to tell.....
