Looking from previous years' threads, prelim interview invitations get sent out early on. I plan on sending my application in early Sept but my school doesn't send out Dean's letter & transcripts until November. So in that case, does that mean that my application won't be considered complete and thus won't get any interviews until they receive the transcript & Dean's letter?

If yes, then what if I order my transcript earlier to send to the programs along with my app in September but my Dean's letter still won't go out til Nov. Would it still be impossible to get invitations early then?

Depends on how strong your application is, but I received invites to prelims prior to Dean's letter. Check out auntminnie after the applications are due. There will be a thread showing when people start getting intern year invites.

The MSPE (dean's letter) isn't available to ANY programs before Nov. 1, so you won't be at a disadvantage. You should still get several interview invites before Nov. 1.

This is kind of random. Last year, Nov. 1 was on a Saturday --- but I actually got a prelim interview invite at 11 a.m. that day. That program director must have been eagerly waiting at his computer for the MSPEs to be released. 🙂
