Hi,

i got off schedule because of time I had to take off during school. So I'm officially graduated this month. I didn't do ERAS this year, long story, so I'm trying to figure out what would be my best move.

I want to do OB and was wondering if there was a way to see any programs that may have opening for Jan. If there are non then I'm weighing my options as far as starting an trans year in Jan...which would have me finishing up next Jan which would still have me off track. Is that smart? or should i just wait to start one in Jan...which would put me back on track?

Prelim OB years...how do you find them? Are what are the chances of getting into the categorical program after the year. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or knows someone with experience? Same question for trans years at an institution with OB and trans...do yall know how programs are with taking trans years students?

I'm also a DO grad so if you know of any DO programs tht have open PGY1 spots for OB please let me know. You can PM me. Thanks

I don't have much to offer but I think I am a bit confused. What is preventing you from applying via eras NOW? I don't know what the deadlines for OB are, but isn't something you should consider?

Secondly, I think you really need to speak to an advisor from your school ASAP.

Lastly, if your goal is OB, do OB programs allow for a TY year to count as an intern year? If not, then it would be a wasted year as you would have to repeat it in OB. Also, TY programs tend to be highly competitive and filled through ERAS by like people applying for derm. However, this may not be true for all programs.
