Not as exciting - I'm up in Oregon. I'm hapa - my dad's local and my mom's haole, and she apparently won the "where are we gonna live" battle. plus, not a ton of construction jobs in Hawaii anymore, at least not like there used to be.

that said, my dad's side of the family's all on Oahu, in Kalihi-Palama, Hawaii Kai, and Kailua. get back to visit when I can, but you probably know it ain't cheap!

being raised on the mainland don't mean I can't understand pidgin though, since that's all that my local family (and my dad) speaks. the number of people I've had to explain the definition of "da kine" to...
