Here's the thing about medical and dental school. They are professional schools. We hold ourselves up to a higher standard in terms of character. One solid example of character is respect for our fellow professional students, and the understanding that the interprofessional relationship is important to the overall health of the patient.
Nothing shows poor character like belittling a fellow healthcare practitioner. By making assumptions about our education and our career without first informing yourself, you are showing just how little respect you have for us.
What kind of person insults a healer? Whether they are physicians, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, physical therapists, audiologists, podiatrists, etc, they are all treating patients. In fact, you should be happy there are people willing to do the jobs that you don't want to.
If you condescend and disrespect a healthcare worker, you won't go far in your career.
I genuinely hope you get into medical school. It will force you to work alongside RNs, PAs, and pharmacists on a daily basis. Maybe that kind of exposure is what you need to appreciate how hard they work to help you treat your patient.
