Hi, I'm new here,
I have some questions about taking prerequisites. I'm international student planning to earning the master's degree (master of science in college of medicine, in FL) in this May. After gradutation, I try to apply dental school. I already took most of prerequisites at my undergraduate in my country. But I heard that the credits earned in non-U.S are not accepted in applying to dental school. Some dental school said it's not acceptable, but I wonder all dental schools in U.S. are not. If so, I have to take them in community college in U.S...
It's better to take them in 4-year university, but I try to do it in community college due to the tuition issue. Is there limitations to have prerequisites in 2-yr CC? I plan to apply to CC in Torrence or Long beach, CA. Do you guys to know any recommandable 4-yr CC there??

Community colleges are to be avoided whenever possible. The general perception is that community college courses are not rigorous enough. Some schools will limit the number of hours you can take at a CC, others like Tufts will flat out refuse any Community College courses. There are plenty of international students who go to dental school especially at schools like Tufts. I don't know exactly how courses taken in another country is handled but I am helping out an individual who took AP level courses in High school back in her country. Tufts told her to retake them at a 4 yr college. Are you Korean? Your name seems to indicate that you might be Korean. Send me a private message.
