Hi guys
I have applied to UConn, Michigan, Iowa, UNC, Ohio State, UIC and Tufts for 2013. Any inputs on these programs? Anyone knows if or how good they are? Which ones are clinically great (implants placement too) and what about research? I am really into research but I do want a solid clinical education... any info guys? And good luck to all applicants !!!!!
 
I'm not applying to any of those programs but I've heard pretty good things about UConn and Michigan. UIC is supposed to be strong with implants. UNC is in transition as their program director just stepped down in July. One of the regular posters here is at OSU and there's someone on dentaltown who just graduated from Tufts - both supposed to be strong programs.

A friend of mine got an email from Houston today about an interview. I'll ask her the date and update you guys with the info.

Thanks for the input. Got an interview at Tufts in September but nothing from all other universities.. Post if you have interview dates guys, it helps all to know what to expect, if anything that is...is it true UConn interviews are really early? All this waiting is so frustrating, I am not enjoying it at all..

interview at OSU 09/17. Are there no other pros applicants? come on guys, post dates and university!!
Has anyone got any idea what the written exam is about? removable partial design? prep drawings? boy this sounds tough... anyone experienced OSU interview and would like to give some info/advice what this is all about? and how difficult this is?

UT San Antonio 9/11 - 9/12 (oral09, I sent you a PM) - we have to prep typodont teeth! Haven't done that in awhile... time to blow the dust off the ol' dentoforms...

I have interviews for Pittsburg, University of Houston and Baylor.
Somebody else has received invitation for Baylor? If so, did they answare you after accepting by email!

Unfortunately, didn't apply this year cause of prerequisite of GRE. 🙁 ..... Specially Baylor.

I had my interview at Pittsburg. They have strong implant exposure. The interview at Houston is on Monday. I also received invitation for Tufts. Have you gone to some interviews?
 
Nothing here, waiting for Maryland, Chicago, Nova, and UNC! Applied to Pittsburgh as well but they are not accepting internationals. How was your interview at Pittsburgh? Good luck with your up comings interviews.

It was fantastic. Two days of simply mind-blowing stuff. Presentations, interviews, lectures... I feel like other pros programs would teach me to become a great clinician. At San Antonio, I feel like I will have the opportunity to become one of the greats - a leader in the field. I can't wait to get started!
 
Great! I did not have GRE and could not apply at San Antonio. Now I have to decide between Houston and Baylor. What do you consider is best?

Impossible to tell -- I didn't apply to either. I know Houston has a BEAUTIFUL new facility though!

Baylor pros places implants. Don't think Houston or SA do.

AUB or UAB??
UAB iterviews is already over.They may go with a second round in october.😡😡
 
I received an invitation for the University of Alabama yestarday at noon that i will decline.

I have just got invited to NOVA. Haven't heard from Chicago and UNC yet.

Good Luck with your interview. When is your interview date? Any idea if UNC and UIC have made their decisions?
 
NSU interviews are the first week of November.

UNC & UIC haven't invited me.

I think UIC are possibly done, but UNC is probably in the process.
Anybody knows something about these 2?

What about USC? Conn? Penn?

I did not apply to USC, but 2 months ago I heard about their interviews.
 
Does anyone know what SUNY Buffalo interview is like?
 
What date is your interview? I was interviewed at Tufts in September. Here is how it went:

9 am - 4:30 pm

Interview with program director, associate program director + 2 others (individually), each interview was 10-15 mins.

Questions: Why prostho? Why Tufts? What did you do in prostho after graduation? Where else have you applied? Mention the programs! Tell me about yourself. Is there anything you want me to know about you?

No scientific questions.

A wax carving test: A plastic model of a tooth + wax block = Copy the tooth crown in wax. You have until 4:30 pm.

Tour around clinics.

- Waiting list 😉

Hey thanks a lot. I interviewed at UW. It was 2 days. First day- 2 three unit bridge wax ups and 4 different preps followed by a pizza party with all other residents and faculty
Second day was a written test and formal interviews with the committee.

I have to pick a date for UB. Good luck for your other interviews! Are you an international applicant?
