Not sure if everyone is aware. The Feds are making some large changes to PSLF.

For docs in Texas and California, previously, employment by hospitals is prohibited by state law, which disqualified them from PSLF, essentially. This is being addressed. Now it is possible to work for a contracting agency where direct employment is prohibited by law provided you are working with a qualified non profit hospital.

Also there are some changes regarding certain forbearance time counting towards forgiveness.

What about working at a non-profit hospital full time, but as an employee of physician corporation that is contracted with the hospital? This is outside CA or TX.

If this type of set up is granted PSLF in those 2 states, would it also apply to the other 48 states?

Only where it’s prohibited by law. So unfortunately not.
