    I've heard this a lot.

    I was just wondering why?

and how significant is the disadvantage? Is it better to just wait a year?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks

They are only at a disadvantage if they are planning on applying the same year that they are taking the August MCAT. Most April-MCATers will have already applied by the time the August MCAT rolls around. It is not a significant disadvantage if you are confident that you can get a good score.
