I transferred to a new college after my freshman year. I didn't really get my act together until my sophomore year, so my 1st year grades weren't good. I had to retake the science courses (except chemistry) because my current school didn't qualify them as counting towards my biomedical sciences major. I didn't fight it, though I could've and probably won, I didn't mind because I wanted to solidify my foundations in biology before moving on towards more difficult courses. My question is how will AMCAS report these grades?
For instance:
Old college
Bio 101 -B
Bio 102 -D
Chem 101 -B
Chem 102-C
Current College
Bio 224 -A (essentially same as Bio 101 above)
Bio 225 -B (essentially same as Bio 102 above)
Chem 122 - A (essentially same as Chem 102 above)
Since they are the same classes, just at different institutions, will my grades at my current college count as repeat courses or will they be all factored in together? I know AACOMAS has this policy,
"Q: Can I replace X course with Y course at a different college?
A: As long as Y is the same number of credits or higher and the course descriptions are similar, Y can count as a retake."
But I want to know AMCAS. Thanks for your time!
