Hi everyone,

I know it's good to submit your application as early as possible. However, I don't understand the rationale behind this if you're taking your MCAT in July or August. Won't the schools only look at the application when your MCAT score released and your secondaries are completed? So what's the use of applying early and using up valuable study time unless you happened to have taken the MCAT in May or before? Thanks.

If I remember correctly, you can't submit your application until your MCAT scores are in. I could be wrong, but I think it counts just like the PS or Work Experiences sections in that it needs to be complete before you can submit the app.

The sooner you submit, the sooner you enter the queue for verification and the sooner you get that step out of the way. The wait for verification can be up to four weeks after submitting if AMCAS has all supporting transcripts.

Not true. Verification can be completed prior to submission of the MCAT. Schools will generally not begin evaluating your application w/o an MCAT, however. The best thing is to get verification rolling ASAP as this can take a few weeks. You don't want to wait until your MCAT scores are back to submit (unless you took the MCAT back in April or earlier, in which case your MCAT scores would be back before you could submit).
