It's hard to say - if you read up a bit, you'll see people get in even with 2.8. However, since you are a freshmen and haven't taken the majority of your classes yet, it's hard to predict how you are going to do. If I was you I'd step up my game - freshmen level classes are about as easy as it gets😳, everything from that point on just gets exponentially harder. So work hard and good luck !🙂

i had a 1.61 my first semester in college... an A, C, D, F.

you still have plenty of time to bring up that GPA...and show trends in grades--that's how you'll get in

How are you doing right now?? Was it easy for you to get in to school? And wat was your GPA after college?

I finished my undergrad studies with a 3.09 cumulative gpa and I was accepted three weeks ago. So to answer your question, yes, you can get in with a lower gpa. The good thing is that it's still early in your college career, so you have time to improve. For example, if you had a 2.0 gpa your 1st semester and you get straight A's in your second, you're already at a 3.0. If you have 2 or 3 bad semesters though it'll be that much harder to bring up your gpa. It takes just as many good semesters to correct a bad semester. I finished my 2nd year of college with a 2.73, and it took a serious effort in my entire 2nd half to bring it up to 3.09. So don't panic, but buckle down and take care of business. I would definitely retake any classes that you got a C or lower in. Even if you can't recompute your gpa, the reviewers will see that you went back and corrected your mistakes. It's important to score better than average on your PCAT too in order to have something strong going for you to get you an interview. You should also know that it did take me 3 years of applying to finally get accepted.

when i applied, my pharmcas cumulative GPA was 3.08 and my pharmcas science GPA was 3.55..i've been accepted to 3 schools and got interview invites at 7 or 8 (i declined 2 of them). i've been accepted on my first try.

i'm sure you'll get your GPA way up, but grades aren't everything...pharmacy experience, non-pharmacy experience, good personal statements, good PCAT, APPLYING EARLY, etc.
