Question about Walgreens budget cuts

My point is, CVS did everything in their power NOT to fire people. Everybody at store level kept their jobs. Everybody at store level got an increase, while nobody above store level got an increase. That's not bad for a Fortune 20 corporation.
 
Interesting. I thought it was only my pharmacy supervisor/dm that didnt get a raise while it was 2 percent across the board for techs, and 0-2.5 percent for rphs.

You're right....I have not filled a retail script in 9 years... CVS would be better off hiring a new grad over me any day.

I do need to go over to some Indys and train tho.

It's like riding a bike. You would get the hang if it in no time at all. It's not the mechanics of filling a script that makes it difficult, it's the judgments you have to make on a day to day basis.

Oh you could get the hang of CVS is about 10 seconds. In fact not filling any prescriptions in the last nine years would be a benefit to you. They have dumbed down their operation so much you do not even need an active license or have gone to pharmacy school to be a pharmacist at CVS. Just press the button on the computer as fast as you can to verify the prescriptions. Oh yeah make sure you pay attention to all the wonderful technology they have to "help" yoy with your job. Like the timers on the drive through and the phone and on filling prescriptions. Lets not forget the phone will anounce how many callers you have on hodls as well as how many people are waiting in the drive through as if you didn't have enough distractions already.

You would have fun at CVS Z...NOT!!!!

Fake pharmacist busted

Police say a 26-year-old woman has been filling pharmacy prescriptions with false credentials.

Nancy Rose McGowan has been working at a CVS pharmacy in East Austin for about two months, using the identifying information of a licensed pharmacist and a counterfeit US Army ID card.

She was arrested last Thursday after a Board of Pharmacy investigator reported her to police as a person acting as a pharmacist without a license. The board was conducting a routine compliance check at the drugstore.

According to police, McGowan has no formal education as a pharmacist.

"You have a person in there who is filling prescriptions who is not properly or adequately trained to do so. And the potential for somebody being issued a medication which might harm them is significant," Det. Billy Betty said.

APD is encouraging anyone who may have had a prescription filled at the CVS pharmacy on 4407 East Riverside Drive by Amber Shcherbelis or Amber Mclendon in the last three months to have their prescription checked by their doctor to make sure it was properly filled.

The case stems from an investigation by the attorney general's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. It alleges that at different times between 1997 and 2007, CVS employed as pharmacists two individuals whose licenses had expired: Morris Skirvin at a store in Nashville, Ind., and Edward Certain at a store in Marion, Ind.

nah..In & Out is better than Wendy's, but then again, I don't have them here in KS so it might be the whole "wanting what you can't have but maybe not wanting it when you can have it whenever you want it" mentality....
but I swear I would never be that way w/JIB (jack n box)..I'm finally getting one this winter and my ass will most likely be camping there night before opening day...😎

The store where I was at as a Grad Intern was right across the street from a very popular frozen custard store. In drive through you would see people coming to pick up their rxs with a frozen custard cone all the time. They also have excellent butter burgers.
 
CVS and Walgreens decide the fate of the pharmacy profession...we should all feel very safe...

Exactly why he is an old fool. One of the curses of the human soul is its ability to adapt to anything, no matter how bad. OldFool seems to have done just that. I refuse. Pharmacy is a great profession and could be so much more. The Walgreens and CVS's of the world are destoying it. If OldFool is okay with that fine, I am not.

I think this quote sums up the relationship between OldFool and myself. Some people are followers and some people are leaders. I refuse to follow pharmacy down the black hole CVS and Walgreens are dragging it.

When I was in ABQ, NM back in May, I saw a pharmacy that was also a soda shop/cafe. Didn't have time to pop in, though. Didn't see many big boxes there...lots of indys tho.

Y'know.....I actually liked ABQ area.... I think I could live there.... of course I've never been there during winter.

I did clinicals in the area many years ago and considered moving to Albuquerque upon graduation. The winters are actually very mild compared to the upper Midwest.

👍 I've got two dwarf cherry trees. One is a black tartan and the other is a northstar cherry. I've wanted to get some black sapote seeds to try to germinate, but I haven't had the chance. The fruit is suppose to taste like chocolate though.

Back deck in cut half wine barrels. I didn't germinate those though. They're supposedly grafted onto a different root stock that makes them dwarfs. They black sapote I'd probably bon sai it and keep it in the house with leds as they wouldn't make it through the winters.

That's awesome. I first thought I'd bon sai the world's largest tree for the joke of it...but having seen it germinate, I'm going to let it grow. We have 4 large Plumeria in the pot...won't survive the winter here so we have to bring them in but they're getting too big... it's causing some dilemma here.

There is a difference between terrible and unreasonable.

Dr. M is the man. He is a perfect example of what I am talking about.

OldFool is the exact opposite. A corporate stooge content to wallow in the cesspool of a pharmacy CVS has become. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. OldFool is part of the problem.
