I am invited for an interview at a school even though I do not meet one of its requirements: To have X number of English credits. I want to know how serious are med schools in general about meeting academic requirements. Is there a chance that after having spent money, time, and energy for my interview they may not accept me simply because I did not meet the requirement that was perhaps overlooked?

Call them and ask. Generally you just have to take whatever it is before you would matriculate, so you could do it next semester if they say you need those credits.

OK i'll tell you what I did. I hadn't taken orgo lab or bio lab when I was applying. What I did was I wrote "IP" in the AAMC application for both of those courses. No school even asked about it. I have since taken those classes just in case but i dont think they look that closely

University of Colorado tells you what you're deficient on when you go for your interview day. If you don't fulfill those requirements eventually, you won't be allowed to matriculate.

Of course, I'm not sure of this process, since our group was the first ever to not have any deficiencies.

Thank you very much guys for your reply. One IMPORTANT things I forgot to mention is that I am already in my year off. I have graduated.

I think I should go ahead and ask the admissions about what their requirements are actually. Let me know what you guys things.

Graduating doesn't really change anything. You can still go back and take a few classes, or maybe even take them from a community college, if they'll accept it. I graduated twice already, but I can't seem to get away from the classroom.

I graduated with my Master's and I took a class at a Community College over the summer. You don't have to apply or anything.

well, that's not true. you do, but it's just like getting your address and transcripts and there's no way you'll be rejected.
