I am not in the optometry field, but would like to ask a question to the experts. What kind of role do you see optometrists having in the near future. I was wondering as these corrective surgerys become more perfected if they will eliminate the need of anyone needing glasses. Would optometrists then become involved mainly in surgical techniques or what. Let's say 50 years from now, no one has glasses is that an end to the optometrist. This is not to question why you would go into this field. I find it a very fascinating field and just want to know what the future has in store for it.
